Bug Reports / Invert/Grow/Shrink (merged model) problem

If faces are selected as a result of merging models (where one of the models had selected faces before merging) the selection tools Invert/Grow/Shrink ignore those faces.

Seems like this is not intended behaviour.

Bug Reports / Xmas Lights on Texture Transfer

Bug Reports / UV packing in 1.6.2 is broken

Here is a comparision between UVs coming from 1.6.2 and 1.6.1.

The packing is way too sparse in 1.6.2 - it gets fill ratio of 43% vs 67% on the same mesh in 1.6.1.

I appreciate all the recent development but you guys change things that catch us by surprise during production (this was not mentioned in the change log)


Can we Please have any control over how the packing is done at least via tweak value?

Should work on an entire model or on a selection.

Welds vertices by distance (basically like decimation but without topology preservation).


This would help cleanup models with messier or disconnected topology (For example when you edit a mesh in parts and want to connect them back together)

Being able to bake textures from multiple model sources at once would be welcome (we often have meshes that are split into parts due to the density).

Currently Metashape looks for NAME1 NAME2 etc even when the file we select has the .1001 udim naming.

If auto-detect is not possible a checkbox would be welcome.

Bit depth of source model's texture does not carry over (16 bit gets converted to 8bit during a Model-Model Build Texture).

Feature Requests / Custom metadata for chunks

I'm also using metashape to manage 3d assets and I find that being able to save custom metadata information to each chunk would be very beneficial (things like keywords, description etc etc)

I'm currently between versions (using 1.5.5 and 1.6.0 back and forth) and I find that it would be good to have the version number displayed on the top bar of the app.

Example: Projectname.psx - Agisoft Metashape Professional 1.6.0

This is also useful when we have multiple machines and you guys do updated the app quite frequently.

Can someone explain to me how does "adaptive_resolution" work in UV building?

It does require cameras/points to be present but there is no explanation about what it actually does.

General / Imported Point Cloud issues (with examples)

Hey Alexey,

I've been having some issues with custom dense point clouds. I can now reproduce it consistently:
 

I've illustrated some examples:

1. Imported point cloud does not move with rest of the chunk:

2. Meshing a custom cloud imported to a chunk with Transform results in a much lower polygon count than the estimate ( I assume it has something to do with issue nr1, see image )

I am importing .PLY point clouds.

Feature Requests / Filter Dense Point Cloud - Estimate Output Point Count

Hey,

I'm using the filter dense point cloud feature a lot now (thanks for this, was very needed).

I was wondering if displaying an estimated point cloud output before execution would be possible (that or a target point cloud field that does it for us)?
