General / Moving an object to the center of the coordinate system
« on: February 25, 2017, 05:14:37 PM »
Hello,

I'm having a bit of a problem figuring out how to move an object and it's pivot to the center of coordinate space. Is there something obvious that i'm missing?

Kind Regards

Hello,

I've updated the drivers and gave it another go, same issue:

There you go, I've let it run overnight.

Log and Chunk info in the attachment.

Windows 8, AMD 7990 and R290. 256GB of ram. Images are 42mpix

Hello wojtek,

What kind of issues were there with the depth maps reconstruction? Can you provide the log file related tot he operation?

I'll try to reproduce this for you between projects (it takes several hours before it crashes).

At first glance it may be that you do not have enough RAM.

Which version of aPS are you running?

Some feedback:

-Depth reconstruction seems longer and more unstable in the new version. I've had two projects fail (they had high overlap) but completed without an issue on the 1.2.6 build.

-Read-Only option should be something we can toggle on/off. In my case where i flick between multiple machines constantly i did find projects that were locked when I did not want them to be.

-New theme buttons could use some coloring so that it's easier to distinguish them (and to tell if DC is present for example, like in classic theme)

Could you guys provide some explanation for the Render Photos feature?

Thanks!

Feature Requests / Re: DNG format

I think the issue is that Photoscan does not read the sidecar settings? I've tested dng as well today and it only loads the files in their default (as shot) state.

Any development in this area? With large projects this would save us conversion time and storage space.

Bug Reports / Re: Dense Cloud points are not deleted from the OC3 file.

Hello,

PSX format is faster than PSZ so it would be nice to have an option to delete point files permanently in that format, too.

As you can see the clouds can get pretty big so it would be a nice option to have.

Hello wojtek,

Can it be observed after saving the project?

Yes, that is the case.

Hello,

In photoscan version 1.2.0 I've noticed that if i delete DC points in the project then the file size of the OC3 file remains the same (data does not get actually deleted).

Kind Regards

General / Re: PhotoScan swapping to disk with plenty of RAM available
« on: July 29, 2015, 02:14:49 AM »
Marcel, thanks for clarifying that the output mesh process' memory footpring does not relate to input cloud density.  I am certain that PhotoScan is responsible for the swap file -- I have monitored swap on this machine closely.

No, it is exactly the other way around. Mesh generation setting has no effect on processing time/memory requirements, it is simply the value of decimation that is applied afterwards. Time and Memory requirements of mesh generation process are fully dependant on your cloud density (the denser it is the high the memory use).

Feature Requests / Wait/Delay Job - Batch Process
« on: July 29, 2015, 02:09:58 AM »
Hey guys,

I think an addition of a Batch Process Job type that allows to postpone the batch queue by specified time would be very welcome.

For example, I open two separate projects. I want them both to process on one machine without my attention. By adding Delay of X hours  I ensure one is finished before the other starts. (I'm talking about projects that are simply too big to load up as several chunks in one APS project)

A job of "Close application" would be welcome as well.

Thanks!
