General / Re: Best way to keep track of hours?
« on: January 30, 2015, 01:27:27 AM »
That and also to be able to quote clients on how much it costs to do a project.  Everyone wants to know price per image or price per acreage/mileage, but I find it hard to know exactly how much time it takes as there are so may variables (plus I do more than one project at one time so I'm jumping all over the place so that I don't sit and stare at the processing bar).  I thought if I could create a database of how long it took to do a project at X AGL, X mileage or frames, I could get more of a range.

Thanks Ben!  I did check those out before.

General / Best way to keep track of hours?
« on: January 29, 2015, 10:27:49 PM »
I often multitask and run more than one PhotoScan project.  I find it difficult to estimate the # of hours to complete a project (I don't count the actual processing time, just my interactive time).

Is there any tool/extension out there that will help me calculate my hours automatically?  Pen and paper is not cutting it.  Something if a window is front and active, a counter/tally will accumulate?  Then if it's in the background, it will not tally?  Mozilla Firefox has this for the internet usage.

Just curious how you might do that if you have to tally hours.

General / Re: Problem with align of forested images
« on: December 10, 2014, 11:20:39 PM »
I was able to do a forested area similar to yours, however, I think ours was flown a little higher to allow (350m AGL?) for more chance at matching features.  It was tricky and it did not accept all the images for every site, even with known camera position.  I have not excelled in this type of landscape yet.  Still in the trial and error mode with the various settings.  Try low density point cloud if you make it past the alignment part.

This thread is old, but I wanted to reference the script Alexey mentioned above.

We used the above script to at least get the four corner (x,y) of the refortified frames.  Using those we imported it into ArcGIS and developed the polygons that way.  However,

   #We checked the coordinates of this polygon and it is off from Agisoft's output, the corners are 6-10 meters inside the polygon

   x0 = chunk.projection.project(x0)
   x1 = chunk.projection.project(x1)
   x2 = chunk.projection.project(x2)
   x3 = chunk.projection.project(x3)

   x_0 = min(x0[0],  x1[0], x2[0], x3[0])
   x_1 = max(x0[0],  x1[0], x2[0], x3[0])
   y_0 = min(x0[1],  x1[1], x2[1], x3[1])
   y_1 = max(x0[1],  x1[1], x2[1], x3[1])

   #Why does he do this?  Why divide by 20?
   x_0 -= (x_1 - x_0) / 20.
   x_1 += (x_1 - x_0) / 20.
   y_0 -= (y_1 - y_0) / 20.
   y_1 += (y_1 - y_0) / 20.

Do you have Global Mapper or ArcGIS to see if the bands are truly there?  My mosaics have been exporting in 4 bands.

General / Calculations/Formulas for Blending Modes & Pixel Upscaling?
« on: December 04, 2014, 09:02:52 PM »
First, I would like to know what the pixel calculations are for each of the blending modes:

Mosaic (default)
Average
Max Intensity
Min Intensity

Mainly the difference between the first two, but overall I just don't want to make any assumptions!

Secondly, when you export a mosaic or DEM and you increase pixel size, what "upscaling" method is it using?

General / Re: "Image Overlap" from report into a Raster?

I hope someone knows!

Hello,

When generating a report after mosaicking, a graphic is in the PDF called "Fig. 1 camera locations and image overlap."

Is there a way to export to a raster or polygon for GIS?
It would be so helpful and much easier than the other method I had in mind!

I am searching the forum and playing with the Tools | Export features, but not sure I'm getting it.

General / Re: Using 3-band images, but output/mosaic is 1-band looking
« on: October 15, 2014, 01:00:28 AM »
Hi Alexey,

I have version PhotoScan 1.0.4, where can I find 1.1?

I emailed info@agisoft.ru with links to images.

Here is the mosaic with only the red band displayed

General / Using 3-band images, but output/mosaic is 1-band looking
« on: October 15, 2014, 12:30:30 AM »
I have 3-band RGB image about 783mb each TIFF flown at 1000m.  Unsure of sensor/camera.

I pulled in the TIFFs into Agisoft and created a mosaic using three of the images.  In the Agisoft view, the images still look good (aka RGB) even up to the texture step.

However, when I go to export the mosaic and pull it into ArcGIS, it has the picture clear in the red band, but the blue and green bands are just that - completely blue or green without any image even the zero pixels.  I have tried the Enable RGB color correction on and off, mosaic default, average, max, min - tiling too thinking maybe the mosaics were just too big.  No luck so now I'm asking the forum.

Here are some photos of what I'm seeing:

General / Re: Difficulty stitching corn field
« on: October 07, 2014, 11:37:44 PM »
I am interested in this as I will surely have a corn field project in the future!

I recently completed a vineyard project that went very smoothly.  It was flow at 400m AGL however.  Maybe the roads on the sides assisted in this case.  We did three flight lines going north to south.  Our GPS on the plane is even coarser than 3m.

I had daily crashing issues as well and blue screens too.
We quadrupled my RAM and now it's much much better (16 GB).

General / Re: Advice on making my flat field "flat"
« on: September 15, 2014, 10:55:21 PM »
Just to be sure I'm doing it right...

I have an exiting thermal project that has photos aligned, markers place, and points/mesh/texture already made.

I opened the project and selected Tools | Import | Import Mesh.  Selected the RGB ojb file. Then I redo the texture.  (So point cloud is still the same for thermal.)

Anything to improve error?  The GCP all look good in individual frames, but the mosaic (although much cleaner) is off just a tad.
