General / Re: Import coordinates for laserscans
« on: April 24, 2023, 08:45:27 AM »
I think it's the georeferenced coordinates.

In version 1.8.0, the process in Metashape also worked with the help of a script. But in the latest version I can't find a way to assign the calculated coordinates from a third-party program to the scans. When importing the E57, the coordinates are transferred to the "estimated coordinates" fields, but they must be transferred to the "source coordinates" fields. Importing the scan positions with the name of the scan file and the coordinates does not work either, since the scan position cannot be found.

Ok I'll ask differently.

I calculate my scans in another program.
Then I output the coordinates of the scans to the e57 file. I read this E57 file into Metashape as a laser scan.
These laser scans serve as a reference for other images that I want to align with the laser scans.
This all works very well, unfortunately my coordinates from the e57 file are not transferred to the corresponding fields in Metashape. I have to keep working with control points in Metashape, even though the coordinates for the laser scans are already there.

How can I bypass this and work directly with the coordinates?

Is there a way to import the coordinates for laser scans?
You can calculate everything well now, but in my opinion this possibility is missing.

And again I overwrote data, because there is no security query for the orthomosaics. It's just annoying... >:(

Hi,

I think I solved the problem. It is about the markers being unticted in the Reference pane panel. Not sure why it is absolutely neccessary to be ticked but enabling them seems to solve it.

Filip

The same solution worked for me.

Thanks

In the reference tab you only have to click the top two boxes for the TLS, the box on the left is for position, the box on the right is for rotation. As a prerequisite, you must have read in coordinates for your Tls. The script doesn't run in the latest version anyway, so it should work without it. This is how it worked for me.

Much luck

You must define the tls as fixed.

To do this, click the checkboxes for position and rotation (only tls) before the camera orientation.

Same here.... What does the error exactly mean?

The same on my side.....

I want to build a cylindrical Orthomosaik with three markers. Axis is marker 1 to 2. Projection origin is marker 3.

After starting the procedure, a failure "Location of marker 1 is undefined." expires.

I´ve done this several times, why is there a failure? Version is 1.8.1 build 14671.

I think there are always problems with RTK-GPS or PPP-GPS.

I also don't know what the level of education is in relation to surveying.

First of all, the GCP should be determined with the same GPS receiver as the coordinates of the drone to exclude all other sources of error. When I read here about deviations in the meter range, there must be some errors. So simply place the drone with the camera perpendicular to the GCP, determine the rod height and have the coordinates of this "photo" evaluated. Of course, the rod height must be subtracted from the Z-coordinate!

These coordinates should match the coordinates from the flyover with the coordinates from the Drone except for 1-5cm in x and y and factor 2-10 in z, otherwise something may not be right.

This should be the first step, then you can take care of focus values and camera calibrations. Especially with the focus values, there are some special features that must be taken into account.
It depends on flight altitudes and changing ambient temperatures, as simple as some here believe, none of this is.

That means you have oriented photos and then load oriented scans with them?

And then you run the script over it.

Does this work fine for you?
