General / Rotating/translating the complete project
« on: February 27, 2015, 11:30:06 AM »
I have project completed till mesh. Now I wanted to translate/rotate the project. I have 40 markers. If I manually type new coordinates of all markers, it would take too much time. How can I do it efficiently. Any suggestion?

General / Orthophoto from a cylinderical shape
« on: February 03, 2015, 12:02:31 PM »
Hi,
I need to detect and draw small details (1-2 mm) from my images. I can see these small details on my images.

Generally I would make very high resolution orthophotos and draw/digitize on orthophotos-

But for cylinderical objects what should I do.

If I generate my point cloud and unrape it into CloudCompare, I would definitely not able to digitise in mm. This is due to project size (very large---length of cylinder 40m, radius 2 m).

Any suggestion about workflow.

Note: I'm aware of this post.

Hi,
Can I paste my target on circular/curved surface( see attached figure). Target size is A4

Can I use standard spheres shown in attached figure (used for laser scanning with given radius) as targets in photoscan

@ nadar
What is your accuracy??????? A litle bit detail please?
What should be expected, 1/5000 of the distance?

@ nadar
Thank you for your detailed reply.
About your suggestions:
1-It was also my original plan to do so.   I don't have perfect plane in my object. So I  have not applied it.
2- It is standard solution in classical photogrammetry. I have taken 20 markers in my project. 10 are fixed (active) and the rest
are used to see RMS. The results are about 5mm.

It works.

@ Alexey
Thanx for your quick reply. I checked that link already. But why my targets are different than standard one. Is there any standard for non- coded targets. If so can you just send my standard shape of non-coded circular and cross targets as word/pdf/DXF, sothat I can print  and use them. It would be great help.

I 'm trying to detect non coded x-targets  but failed.
Steps:
1. Alignment of photos.
2. detect targets ( not working)

General / Re: Registration of scan data with UAV

@ nadar
Thanx for ur valuable input. But my problem is that I have to locates these targets in my scans  also.
@ stihl
Can I automatically find these targets ( subpixel) in Agisoft. I need such targets which can be accurately located in scans  as well as in images. Rectangular targets (Black/white checkered pattern) are good for scans but I'm not sure for automatical detection in images.

General / Registration of scan data with UAV
« on: January 06, 2015, 02:22:09 PM »
We have scanned as well as imaged an object. I want to register scan and image data together.
At the moment we are using just natural features as tie points between two data sets.
But for higher accuracy, I'm planning to use targets. What sort of targets should I take. Also
shape, size etc.???
Flying height: 20-30 m.
Any suggestion??

General / Quality measurement of point cloud
« on: January 06, 2015, 02:21:12 PM »
I just wonder if there is some quality measures of the dense point cloud generated by images in photoscan.
How can I know the quality of single point in dense cloud.

If my images are max at 10 m and I 'm using middle, high, ultra high setting for dense cloud, what approximately pixel accuracy should I have.

I have downloaded latest version of Photoscan (1.1.0.2004).
I wanted to give x,y,z coordinates of my images  but I' cann't do it.
There is no ground control button now.
Instead there is reference button which doesn't allow to give x,y,z of the images.

In last version (1.0.2.1824), there was ground control and there by clicking on image you could give x,y,z of the images.
