nice read!

you can't... you need a GIS software.

you can export the dense cloud and build the mesh in another software, then import the created mesh to PhotoScan.
Weird anyway... 21 million isn't a biiig mesh...
The mac can't use the hard disk like virtual memory?

hi vitor,
like aletopo says, use MILD filter for the dense cloud, also, in geometry quality set  custom: 500.000.000 (the geometry will be more detailed)

I did a quick test (with modified pictures, more contrast and less bright) on the free version of pix4d on  rapid check mode, and the dense cloud is very similar....i wonder how pix4d can rescue the cables...i tried on PhotoScan with high dense cloud quality and mild filter without luck.

Hi Diego,
What software do you use?  the results doesn't  look like a PhotoScan output

me too, is very annoying, but with the cameras positions before alignment. Closing and opening PhotoScan solved it.

Anyway, like mwittnebel says, with 290X the heat is a very big problem. In my job we have 2 290x and without a proper airflow both gpu reach 96ÂșC or more, and PhotoScan will crash, so...

nvidia 980 or amd 290x

the use of GCP is a recomendation, is not the source of the problem.

Example:
Use of CGP vs camera position only for georeferencing:

CGP only:

cameras positions only:

diference (transparent is camera positions only):

(use the horizontal bar)

these lon/lan coordinates from any uav are not accurate (error in meters). A proper CGP are accurate in milimeters.

Anyway, if you fly again, fly higher and take more frecuent photos, so you get a higher overlap of the tower, and then you can combine both flights and align them on PhotoScan.

damm... that don't look good.
What overlap do you use (longitudinal/lateral)?

In any case, beside the bad dense cloud, someone here in other post suggest (for data with a high/tall structures) classify Ground Points and then build the mesh only with the Ground Points (the mesh with that dense cloud will be bad anyway).

Aah, and for a serious work (topography, cartography, etc), you need some CGP, the final product without them will be bad, with errors on X, Y, Z, rotation and scale.

(sorry for my english)

how looks the dense cloud of the tower?
Try set a custom value of faces of the mesh, like 100.000.000 and then create the orthophoto.
