General / Optimize settings
« on: March 31, 2016, 11:19:07 PM »
Dear,

I am using as Marker accuracy (pix) value the mean of Marker error (pix) and for Tie point accuracy (pix) value the mean of Camera error (pix).

I attached a screenshot to explain what I'm doing. Do you think that it is wrong to process the optimization with this settings?

If it is wrong, could you explain me, in detail, what is Marker accuracy (pix) and Tie point accuracy (pix)?

Thank you very much!

Kind regards,
Bernardo

General / Re: UAV Volume Calculation
« on: February 02, 2016, 05:57:32 PM »
Hello Hank!

Thank you so much for your contribution, it's very useful.

I work with soil erosion. My aim is to use Phantom 3 to generate 3D models of soil surface in different times and then, by comparison, calculate the volume of soil eroded.

Do you think that it's good to change the angle of the pictures even when I flight in a flat surface?

What software did you use to calculate the volume by overlapping two dense point cloud?

If you have another practical tip to improve my flights and, consequently, the models it will be very good.

Thanks!

Kind regards,
Bernardo

Hi SuperNewb,

You help me a lot with your advice.

And what about the PC specs? Do you have some experience and can suggest me something?

Thanks!
B

General / Building dense cloud for soil surface (bare soil)
« on: January 24, 2016, 03:19:21 PM »
Dear,

I work with soil and I'm processing some models of soil surface, in order to calculate the volume of soil losses by water erosion. I'll compare the models and through the difference between them find the volume eroded. I don't have vegetation in pictures, just bare soil. I have an average of 200 photos in each project. The pictures was taken by UAV (DJI Phantom 3).

So, I need your help to know what is the best configuration to process the dense cloud.

What do you suggest me?

Thanks!

Kind regards,
Bernardo

Hi Alexey,

Thank you for your answer.

I did this, but the z-axis remains inverted.  ???

Dear,

I'm having a problem with my model.

My photos was taken by drone and have coordinates. When I aligned them, all axes are in the correct positions. But when I insert the GCPs the z-axis pointing down. The GCPs coordinates was collected with total station and the order of the coordinates isn't wrong, I checked it several times.

I'm using SIRGAS 2000 / UTM zone 23S as coordinate system, because my photos are from Brazil.

All best,
Bernardo
