General / How to do forest surveys

I have a client request to do surveys in forest withouth NDVI due to the cost. The clients believes that he is able to see from the Foto wich trees are sick...

But he need a georef orthomosaic of a large area (30 hectares)

The problem is that Ortho does not produce clear images, but do a lot of distortion / warping effect especiially on trees....

Is there any of you proccing forest surveys and whats the best way to become as clear images as possible?

General / Faster Licence Switch Option

Dear Agisoft
The Activation Process is a real pain. We have 2 stationary workstations and one mobile workstation, they are mostly in the same networks but often, when we are in the field, we are not.

Is there no way that a licencse can be deactivated faster and moved to the other workstation withouth everytime inserting the entire licence key. Also becouse there is no way to do a copy & paste of the entire key but you need to insert it in blocks.

How could we improve this?

Im wondering why I have such artefacts in my Ortomosaic and how I could improve it....

I flew at about 160m high and in the pics I don´t have any artefacts... only in the Agisoft output...

General / Export large projects

Im wondering whats the best way to export large projects as 3D model, Orthofoto, DEM & point cloud....

We have a area of 1,1 km with 1,8cm/px resolution.

bigTiff Orthos are over 10 GB, if point clouds exported we are reaching 16 GB as well.

DEMs can ajusted very well, so we could export raster with 10, 20, 50 & 100 cm that reduces a lot

I have seen in sputnik KML that there is support for tls export/imports from Agisoft, wich works quite well.

Is there something similar available for Google Earth, so that clients can view 3d model? Becouse as kmz files I can only make work Orthofotos in google Eart, but not 3D models

General / Dense Points Classification

Im wondering if there is any speed way to assign classes to the points...

especially I would like a way to select noise points so that I can delete them. Also I dont understand the process of how I can make Agisoft classify water points in a simpler way...

General / Hardware needed for 5k+ pictures

We are discovering very slow performance with 5000+ picture map of a 1 km² dry lake after we have created the dense cloud with 230,000,000 points.

We have startet the process of mesh creation with low setting, resulting in a mesh of 5,000,000

Unfortunately Agisoft took 15 hours and hang at about 32% withouth going further...


System is a
Intel i7-5820k hexacore
128 GB RAM
Radeon R390 8 GB

General / Photoscan 1.3.1 activation after update failed

We have updated from 1.2.6 to 1.3.1 and Agisoft is strangely asking for a reactivation....
But when entering our product code it says product is already registrated... so what?

we can now only work in trial mode....

can I ask why you changed this process? Thanks for helping

General / Optimisation failed.... what to do

I have an urgend question. We have added about 400 GCP on a hughe project and after first optimisation the entire project hast been destroyed. Is there any way to go back to the last version, becouse there is no go back button clickable...

This error happens to me already a few times and I dont know what to do now, since Agisoft is not able to regenerate the sparse cloud correctly, even if I have deselected all markers, set them back and done a optimisation in WGS84 with only pictures selected as reference...

what si going wrong?

I thought it might update the Ortho if something on the pictures have changed, but it doesn't

General / View true fotos

Is there any feature where I can click on the fotos in the map view (show camera option activated) and view true it for better gcp reference... and maybe also disable some of the cameras for the orthomosaics?

Also I would really appreciate if there would be any feature in the Ortho View where I can display wich fotos are taken for the orthomosaic and eventually disable here too some cameras that are not very good in focus

General / Create Marker in Orthomosaic View

Is there any way we could add marker in the Orthomosaic view? This would improve a lot this step to position the GCP. Becouse in Dense Cloud or in shaded view the resolution is always extreme low or the computer extreme slow (if texture has big sizes)

If you can add this feature. that would be awesoem
