we are using a multicopter. The cams have interval only all 3 seconds, we are talking to developer to increase this. ok maybe if we can have a pic each second, this should really improve the quality a lot. especially becouse the parallax is only done by the moving forward.

on this example, did you have also camera looking forward to have the vertical texture so awesome?
Can you please share a 3D model on sketchfab of this? would be great.

ok than let me check to have a higher overlapping. we have 50% front overlap & 60% side overlap. Since the cams are working with intervalometer, the front overlaping should be always more.

But I will try to increase the side overlap to 70%, but it will mean an hughe increasing in flight time...

whats max speed you are flying?

This is the model created by Agisoft.
As you can see there are a few computing issues with wrong altitude of elements. What do you think could be the issue? How to improve this quality?

Today I flew one pattern at 40m and one at 80m.... hopefully it will align better. unfortunately, Agisoft has massive trouble with aligning grass images togheter. seems not to work very well.

But thanks for your feedback.

I would also like to keep the 80m images on, becouse they cover some area parts that have not been mapped with the 40m altitude pics.

Is there any ay that we can say to Agi to chose always the better resolution images or will Photoscan merge 80 + 40m pictures for the texture togheter?

when building dense cloud are you going for medium or high accuracy? and for the depht filtering are you using mild or moderate? Whats the best setting for optimal results?

Thanks for helping

Stihl, how can we improve the imput data? Im not shure what we can do on our side... Do you have some really good advice for us?

Im having issues especially on the solar modules on that building... the lines are not very clear

General / Optimizing Image Alignment with different flight heihgts

At moment we have some issues in aligning images from drone surveys when we are flying in low altitudes under 30m, especially when flying over patterns like solar modules on the ground or green gras surfaces.

The reason we are flying so low is to get a higher resolution on ground.

Im wondering if we can do a 2 pass flight.

1st flight pattern at 100m altitude with an entire overview of the whole landscape
2nd flight at 30m of specific landscape parts to get the higher resolution

will this improve the image alignment workflow in Agisoft while keeping the higher ground resolution doe to the low flight images?

Would be glad if you could give me any good feedback on this idea.

Thanks
Igor

Im wondering if I can export the Dense Cloud Model as a ASCII file with only 1 m Raster points... ?

I have created a map survey model with about 15 Mio. Dense Cloud Point, but client can't open and process the file.

Is there any way to export it as a Raster with only one point each sqare meter?

Thanks for helping

Im wondering if you have any idea how we could improve our 3D reconstruction process.

As seen in this example some parts are not clear. what could we do to improve it?

Thanks Stihl. Im not confusing IR with NIR and I understand the difference. Im just wondering why the MAPIR Cameras are able to record IR+NIR at the same time with a special dual-band filter splitting the signal into Red & Blue RGB channel.

And from my understanding, a NDIV image needs to be calculatet from (IR-NIR) / (IR+NIR)

so I was wondering if NDIV can be also calculatet from NIR + RGB (logically 2 separate Orthomosaics) only. If yes, Im more than happy since ill get my IR camera this days.

update
Maybe I misunderstood something due to a wrong translation. it seems I need the red channel & NIR... than I should be fine with 2 cameras (one RGB & one NIR)

unfortunately we dont have any lessons here in our region... Im fine with the photogrammetry stuff and are getting good georef results in Agisoft. Unfortunately I can't find any informations regarding NDIV calculations, unless the infos you get on MAPIR with their cameras....

If you can give me any infos... Im happy with it.

Im still wondering how a NDIV can be generated only from RGB+IR instead of IR+NIR camera.
