We have updated 2.2.0 pre-release to build 19440:

the issue with the AI masking in offline mode should be fixed now. Also the problems related to the new checkbox "save project after each step" in the main workflow operations dialogs should be resolved.

I don't think so as his textures are currently always being generated by the CPU (they are way to big for the VRAM as seen in his logs). I think that it's a combination of way to many gigantic textures and also UV U- wrapping issues because the meshes are either to dense or the topology is messed up (he should run the model statistics and see if there's anything to fix).

Thanks for the suggestion Mak11. Unfortunately, the textures were already generated with the CPU. It's a very lengthy process, but the logs always indicate that there's not enough GPU memory.

E.g.,

What are the texture generation settings used ? how many 4K or 8K textures ?

The texture artifacts are present even when the texture is produced on the undecimated model...

Happens in both v2.1.3 and 2.2.0.

Try to generate the textures using the CPU only (it will obliviously take longer) but at least it would rule out a GPU/Driver bug.

32K texture? why ? This is absolutely unseeable. You should generate several 4K textures instead.
Also a 171M poly model is totally unnecessary. Decimate it to a reasonable level before unwrapping & texturing.

This happened 2 weeks ago while the servers/website was down. Couldn't run the AI masking feature because Metashape needed to download the models every time the process was started.

AI masking currently only works online.  As of right now it has to download the trained models data every time it's used. But if the Agisoft servers are down you can't use it. Please give the user the option to store the trained models package if the servers are unavailable.

It's already possible. Unless you mean directly on the model in the viewport..

I'm on an Radeon 6700XT with no issues.
What's important is the Compute 0 /1 / 3 utilization not really the overall GPU utilization %.The 7900XT is probably seeing less usage because the project is probably not that taxing for it compared to the less powerful 2080s.
