Jnb,

As a test. Did you try to reconstruct the mesh after disabling the depth maps that seem to be wrong (& keeping all the others obviously)?
Disable the photos then re-generate mesh with re-use depth maps option selected.

This is the most relevant information as JNB noted.
https://www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=13066.msg58741#msg58741

Some of the depth maps seem to be completely wrong.

BTW jnb.. Which GPU are you using?

I think that its perfectly clear from the results shown in this thread; that the new depth maps generation method suffers from issues when the result are vastly different (better) when the depth maps are generated via the previous method with the exact same data set (using exactly the same settings)

What is this SGM & PM depth maps thing?

Unfortunately the pre-release of 1.7.3 ( https://www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=13045.msg58730#msg58730) doesn't fix the issue at all & that's a really shame.

FYI Version 1.7.2 build 12040 doesn't seem bring any improvement to this issue on Medium/High unfortunately..

But Ultra-High looks better (albeit still with un-wanted geo flying around..thankfully those can be easily discarded in 2 clicks)

Make sure to list your HW specs and Metashape + GPU driver version.

I've been suspecting for a little while that their are issues/differences with the OpenCL path compared to the CUDA path.
Hopefully the Agisoft team can finally take a closer look into this..

Looks like you processed the Ambiant Occlusion map instead of the diffuse.

Alexey,

1.7.2 still exhibits the same issues (maybe a bit less than 1.7.x ):

Hello,

Very good to know, as I also have this problem. Thank you for the fast resolve.
Are the errors in mesh reconstruction from depth maps as shown in attachement also linked to this specific issue ?

Thank you

Yup this is my main issue with 1.7.x I surely hope that this can get resolved sooner rather than later.

Hard for me to say but I don't do what you dealing with 3D products. I am on more of aerial photography and GIS side so I'd say most of my project with this software DOES a really good job !!

It takes a lot of hard work to put into and learning curve on this software. I would give them the 5 stars of 5.

For me, when I read your message here , I would always suggest make a backup of your work if things goes wrong. You can always go back to the previous one.

And for the new beginners I can understand how frustrated you are and I was like that before but I didn't give it up and put my skills to use it... I love it this software...

I would not trade for any other software because if this software had not been out , I would be stuck dealing with ERDAS doing the similar work...

Just sayin' and keep learning !!!

What the hell those this have to to with the subject of this topic ?

Yes. I can confirm that and several users have already reported the same issues unfortunately.
Another identical report already posted yesterday in the Bugs sub-forum:
