General / Bad reconstruction error
« on: April 27, 2012, 06:14:56 AM »
Hi guys

I am facing a trouble here.
I have 70 aerial imagery that in older photoscan professional version worked just fine.
But in the last two version 1419-1423 it gives me this error.
The sparse points are fine, better than the others versions, really better.
But the mesh is a completely mess! All the features are melting and they are distorced, they are bent.
If you look closely you will see the building, mainly the tall ones, are bent and melted.
I use height field, medium, and smooth. I did a test using height field, medium and sharp and nothing came, no mesh at all.
I am really concerned about this, need to discover what is wrong and I don?t want to back to older versions, since the new ones has a lot a good features to work.

Well here is a result using P3D. The mesh part looks good, the only downside is that the texture space is extremely limited (only 1024*1024). I haven't looked into three.js yet but that will be my next attempt.

Here is a example of P3D http://p3d.in/jdWQn

Very interesting, really.

Hi Alexey

Very simple: some people are dumb enough to see and manipulate it.
Sorry, this is the true, even if you put information how to handle it.

By the way, thanks to shoesam and wishgranter for your help.
Is there other way than flash to do it for websites?

Hi guys

I need some help about this situation:

Some of my customers need to see their 3d models on their websites. We sugest to use pdf, but it
didn?t work as it should.
So we need another way to put it on because they want to view all angles of objects, rotate, zoom, etc.
A friend of mine suggested to use flash, but I don?t know how to do that.

So, anyone could help on this?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Fabricio,

If you have video from only one camera I think that processing the set of every second (third, fourth on x-th) frame in standard PhotoScan workflow would produce you the orthophoto and 3D-model.

In the case you need to produce the sequence of 3d-models or orthophotos I think the initial data and the desired results should be specified in more detail.

Hi Alexey

Like I said before, I already do this step to take frames and using the standard workflow.
But it seems to me seeing the youtube video, it would require just to put the video on and the software could to this extraction and generate the 3D/dtm in real time.
I know a english company is doing this and generating dtm/orthophotos/mosaics in this way, almost real time, so I would like to know if it is possible.

Hi Wishgranter

I use the 1920x1080 p frame of a Canon EOS 5D Mk II. The results are ok, nothing outstanding like normal RAW-Tiff 3D models.
If I missing something please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys

I have some HD vertical aerial video for environmental monitoring that I would like to process. I do take some frame shots of it and works ok, but I saw this video on youtube by Infinite Realities and I thought if could be done with my videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq4BUrEBvhA&feature=BFa&list=UUZz3Y7WVFrI7XCBTMVzdFHA&lf=plcp

My clients need the 3D/ortophoto and I know this could fit theirs needs.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I received from a client a txt with the coordinates from the center of the imagery, but everytime I will load it nothing happens.
And I have to put all this with copy-paste for every single photo...
Quite frustating.

See the attached txt and tell me what is wrong...
