Bug Reports / Re: Segmentation fault when checking GPUs

I afraid that it means that the driver doesn't work properly - clinfo is very stable and just asks driver about available OpenCL devices and their properties.

Hi, this worked for me:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=metashape-pro/python/lib/ metashape-pro/python/bin/python3.8 -m pip install numpy

What is your GPU? NVIDIA?

Do these programs work?

Script changes only position of model/point cloud.

Maybe switching From and To objects will work for you? (i.e. aligning point cloud on a 3D model instead of aligning 3D model on a point cloud)

Probably NVidia driver 450 installed by the script is not compatible with Ubuntu 20.04.
Please try again on clean instance - the script was updated and now it should use driver 470 for Ubuntu 20.04.

+1 for cut-off around 350M

For me it looks like a GPU driver problem. Maybe Metashape will be able to workaround it via subdivision of the mesh rendering into multiple draw calls (while the whole geometry data is already in VRAM)?

Interesting, thanks a lot!

Hi Arie! Cool!

Can you please tell how much slower depth maps in 1.7 when CPU usage is unchecked (of course if you will have time for running this additional test)?

As a workaround you can try to download packages with system python and then install it in bundled python:

1. Install system python 3.5
2. Make empty dir and cd to it (mkdir pip_packages and cd pip_packages)
3. python3.5m -m pip download Pillow
4. wait for downloading all packages (including dependencies)
5. LD_LIBRARY_PATH=python/lib/ python/bin/python3.5m -m pip install --upgrade --no-index --find-links=pip_packages Pillow

Hi Paulo,

1) It seems that "MSVC v140 - VS 2015 C++ Build Tools (v14.00)" should be installed - see attached screenshot (I also downloaded -> Download Build Tools).

2) Note that after that I encountered another error:

LINK : fatal error LNK1158: cannot run 'rc.exe'
error: command 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\BIN\x86_amd64\link.exe' failed with exit status 1158

This problem seems to be due to multiple installed versions of Visual Studio :( and w.r.t. you should:

2.1) Open C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\bin\10.0.18362.0\x64
2.2) Copy rc.exe and rcdll.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\bin
2.3) Try pip install pyhull again (worked for me)

3) Note that installation of the open3d led to upgrading some of python packages used in Metashape (jupyter notebook package used for rich python console), and so you will see 'Please wait while Windows configures Agisoft Metashape Professional' (see second screenshot) - after that Metashape will launch and everything will work.

Thanks! I answered there. Sadly it is still not in one click :(

General / Re: Cameras not aligning

I also used another way:

1) Masked all 7 background images using a rectangle mask (each image fully masked out).
2) Tools->Preferences->Advanced->Keep key points->Enable
3) Disabled all images.
4) Enabled second ring (O6Y9730-O6Y9762). Aligned photos (100K keypoints, 10K tie points, apply masks to tie points - see attached screenshot).
5) Enabled third ring (O6Y9763-O6Y9794). Aligned photos (the same parameters, just don't click "reset current alignment" - because we want to add new photos to the current alignment).
6) Do the same thing for 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th ring, after that align 1st ring (O6Y9696-O6Y9729).

The order of rings alignment can be different (they just should be adjacent), but this order worked for me.

Also, better pixels usage should help (the bigger object on image - the better).

I can't find how to download all images. Can you please help me? I want to try.
