I use 12-24 for wide angles. It is very useful when you want to make photos of profiles in narrow trench. 16-85 and 17-55 also for different situations. I would not hesitate to buy them used. It lowers the price significantly. For low light situations use tripod, long exposures and high ISO settings. Depending on camera between 400 and 800.

I think that you wont make mistake with Cpu intel I7 - 7700k, 64 GB RAM, GPU Nvidia 1080 Ti. Right now AMD came out with new processors and new motherboards are showing up, but this is very fresh, so still undefined whether it would be better to use intel or AMD based configuration. I think that new Nvidia 1080 Ti gpus are cheaper than 1080 gpus....

Get closer to the subject in order to get more detail. Perhaps You can combine ground digital camera shots for house facade with drone shots for roof....

Have you tried to convert them to jpeg? There might be a limit for amount of pixels but I am not sure. Experiment with these settings, file size (convert to jpeg) amount of pixels (resize them - lower amount of pixels)....

Obviously You are getting very high level of detail for the architecture and features within the trench, but what about profiles? Is it possible to get them also with enough detail in order to use this model as reference archaeological documentation instead of drawings? Thanks.

Can You post some technical details regarding this site with numerous tombs? I suppose these are tombs, this model with central room and attached smaller chambers. I mean size and number of photos that You used, and the machine that You are working on. I am reconsidering the possibility to transfer concept of technical documentation to 3d models created in Photoscan, but can not create small model with enough detail even for one wall. Your input appreciated. Stefan
