It would have been a very helpful feature to have that option in the export section of contours :)

Ok thanks, I found this 2 year old post written by Lord Beowolf: http://www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=4623.msg23369#msg23369.

I would suggest this as a feature update as well, to be able to export one file with all contour information, that is easily importable in any GIS software. As Lord Beowolf stated in his post, arcGIS does not expect an polygon shape file as contour lines, it is expecting polylines to show them corectly, and having two seperate files is even more confusing.

EDIT: Found on wikipedia that "A shapefile must not contain both polyline and polygon data". So I understand that to be able to have this information in the same file another format has to be used.

One more thing. When exporting contour lines I am presented With two options. Either polylines or polygons. Is there any way to merge theese to not confuse my Client? I'm reconing you need both of them to get all height data? Attached is an example With exported contour lines (Red) and contour polygons (Blue) from Agisoft in a GIS Viewer. Why are theese divided into seperate files?

Thanks again Alexey, that will work :) For future improvements an option to define the area of the contours generation would be great.

Ok, so I think I found a workaround myself.

- Create DEM interpolation disabled.
- Create contours
- Create New DEM With interpolation (desired result)

This looks like a good approach?

EDIT: The only downside With this is I get no contours where there is holes in the model where I normally have interpolated the DEM... No tricks for this?

General / Countour lines edges with no data removing

Hello.

I've been generating some posts lately for my project, sorry if this have been posted earlier. Thanks for all Your help!

Is there a way to generate the contour lines without the no-data values, within a polygon or similar? Or worst case to cut the contour lines?

So I have a big Project with 5 chunks and a total of 4-5000 images. The last thing I'm about to create is the contour lines. I've got help from Alexey yesterday that helped me to get good sharp edges to DEMs and Orthomosaics with the shape and Outer line function, but this doesn't help me With the contours.

When I generate contour lines they use the no-data Fields in the edges. This is causing problems in the overlap between chunks because since I've cut the edges of every chunk, Agisoft is estimating the countours (from the DEM) and when I overlap the chunks the results are not good.

So in my model I have cleaned my sparse cloud, my dense cloud, compacted my dense cloud, but still the DEM and contour lines are generated from my original sparse cloud area.

Thanks a lot for your help, the boundaries helps a lot!

So what value is transparent? -32767?

Allright, thank you Alexey.

So I would like to keep the interpolation to not get a lot of holes in my DEM (removed buildings etc) and still keep the edges sharp. So if I understand you correctly I can just create a shape around the area I want to export inside, but where do I choose this from the export menu? I can only see the setup boundary settings which I presume uses the bounding Box coordinated?

And since we're talking about exporting, how do i make the no data section transparent, and not solid background?

Thanks a lot for all the help :)

General / DEM edges with no data, from of cleaned dense cloud
« on: July 17, 2017, 10:23:10 AM »
Hi there.

I've cleaned my dense cloud around the borders and used the compact dense cloud function. Still when I create a DEM from dense cloud as source, it uses the entire sparse cloud area as a source, which then results in a DEM with no data around the edges. See Attached example.

Is there a workaround for this? I'm creating 5 models which are overlapping, so I need the edges to be sharp with correct data.

Hi SAV.

Thanks for your quick and detailed reply.

This is partly what we are looking for and is a great example when we know what part of the area that has changed. The trickier part is when we don't know where the changes are, or there are many changes (i.e a large Construction area) and we would like to scan this regulary. Is there any way to find the diffrences and only process them. Or kind of automate them?

The point would be to show the progress over a given time period, but if we have to create a model from scrach each time we have to reduce the intervalls between the scans.

I'm attaching some example pictures clarify my point.

- The manual Picture: As you can see I have adjusted the palette manually to correspond With the colors. The scale corresponds With the colors.

- The auto Picture: The palette range is automatically adjusted, but the color scale remains identical. So basically all the colors in the image changes but the scale remains the same.

Looking forward to your response.

General / Update created models with changes

Hi there.

We are using Agisoft for mapping purposes.

Is there any way to fly over an area again and only implement the changes to a already created model? Mining, Construction areas etc. Is there a quick way to to this, or do you have to create every model from scratch even after the initial first model?

General / Wrong NDVI scale
« on: July 10, 2017, 10:59:12 AM »
Hi there.

I'm struggling a bit to get the correct scale for my NDVI Pictures.

I can't  understand the "Palette" page in the raster page.  It seems you manually have to adjust the palette to corresond with the correct colors on the NDVI scale between -1 and +1, and not use the auto function. If you use the auto function, the colors on the scale does not allign with the correct values. Then what is the point with the auto function?

Basically what I want is to export a correct color scale that can be used with the exported NDVI orthomosaic.

Hi there!

I'm trying to use the function "Close holes" in my model, but I'm not getting satisfactory results. It's a terrain model taken with UAV Pictures. As you can see in the attached screenshot the hole is right under a Railroad bridge, crossing a road. The area under the bridge was not covered in the photos.

This happend when I classified the model to be able to generate a DTM, which was expected. But I want to be able to Close the hole nicely so it follows the terrain.

Do you have any good ideas? Or other programs that can do this better?

Thanks

Ben
