General / DJI MINI2, distortion in cloud, what am i doing wrong?

Hi all!

We did another test with using photos from our mavic mini 2 but this time i get this (pic attatched), points everywhere after the alignment. Last time i used photos from the mini it worked quite well but now i must be doing something wrong and i cant understand why. Anybodu knows why?

General / Phantom 4 RTK - how to use pictures when flight without RTK?

Hi!

Probably this is a easy question but i cant figure it out. Sometimes when we fly we loose RTK connection in the air when flying and then it connect again and sometimes we fly a whole flight without RTK. I dont know why this happens but it does.
Anyway, when i try to use this pictures in Agisoft i get a really big error when using my GCP:s. How can i get arround this? It seems like it is something in the metadata wich is telling Agisoft that the accuracy should be like RTK but it isnt. Can anyone give me a workflow of how to do this?

I agree with Paul, the altitude information in the last chunk seems to be incorrect.

You may need to subtract 318 meters from the altitude values of the cameras in the third chunk and Update the reference.

Why 318m, how do i know that is 318m?

Hi!
In the dropbox link below i have a project wich is from a phantom 4 and the first chunks was no problem but suddenly everything gets FU when i try to  use my gcp. The pointcloud goes twisted and the fault is a couple of hundred meters and i cant understand what i am doing wrong this time. If i have the photos checked and import my gcp they are placed correct but when i stat to place them everything goes bananas. Can anyone download the project and try do get it right and tell what i am doing wrong? This is from a regular phanthom 4 and i also have a P4 RTK and with that one is never any problems at all.

General / Agisoft to Sketchup with KMZ, what defines the origo?

Hi!
I am using the kmz export to export from metashape to sketchup and when i import the file in sketchup the placement at north is correct but i want to find out what is controling the origo in sketchup?
I have been testing different things but i cant figure this out. I want to know because if i know what controls this i also can import other stuff to skechup that gets a correct placement. See the pictures

General / DJI P4 RTK Workflow

Hi guys!

I just bought a dji p4 RTK and have made 2 flights. I dont find so much information about using the photos in Agisoft (maybe i have been searching wrong) so i hope you can help me.
So, what is the best workflow?

This is what i did:

1. import photos
2. Align photos, highest
3. Import gcp and changing the settings for coordinate system. For me in sweden its: Project system, SWEREF99. Camera system, wgs84. gcp system SWEREF99. I had only 1 gcp for testing the RTK drone.
(the gcp does not show up in right place, maybe 4m beside but the photos has accuracy 10-40mm)
4. Place the gcp. The accuracy for the gcp will be like 1m
5. Optimize the pictures with both controlpoints and photos checked.
6. Import the exif data (the accuracy for gcp are under 10mm after that)
7. Build pointcloud and do the rest.

This gave me a really good result when comparing with a flight done with an regular P4 and 10 gcp:s. The result when only using 1 gcp was outstanding.

Back to the question, i relly did not know what i did but it seemed to work  :o so can anyone tell med how i acually should do?  ;D

The issue appeared to be related to invalid values being estimated during the depth maps calculation.

The fix is included to the latest 1.5.0 pre-release update, but you will need to rebuild the depth maps.

Can you please save this only chunk with 182 cameras to separate PSZ file with the depth maps and send it to us?

I have sent ypu the project, crashreport and a video. :)

Sorry to but my nose in on this, but I think I can help;

I had a similar problem when we did the 9/11 museum.  What fixed it for me was using the python script called "split in chunks" which subdivides the chunk into more chunks in a grid with a small overlap.  Once the point cloud for each chunk was done, I then merged them back.  I'm sorry if this was just a distraction, but it worked for me.

Thanks, i will try anything. Im afraid i havent worked with script before, how does it work if i batch a process? All my project has always worked before this one (and after) but this one does not work. :(

Hello Mr.Vain,

"Empty point list" message means that the reconstructed dense cloud doesn't contain any points.

Can you, just for case, try to run the processing in Lowest, for example, for the same chunk from the PSZ project that you have sent to us? Maybe your project is corrupted for some reason, but re-saving fixed the issue.

Also you can try to use Reset Region option, if the PSZ processing fails as well.

You can keep an eye on the dense cloud filtering stage - if the working volume in the very beginning of the stage is again 0x0x0, then there might be no reason to wait.

Ok, this is what i did now.

Yesterday i did start the project with the .PSZ file and did the lowest cloud with the chunk of only 166 pics wich has crashed before, that worked.
When it worked (late on the night yesterday) i took a chance and did batch the process for the big chunk and was hoping it should work to this morning, it did not. Some screenshots are attached here.

Now, this morning i tried to make a lowes cloud of one of the other small chunks instead witch the -psz project, it did say 0x0x0x så i aborted it. The icons for depthmaps on the pics are shown all the time now, cant get rid of them.

After this i did "reset region" option and started it again, now it crashed and just turned of the program, no crash report.

I've tried to create the full scale images from the thumbnails and started the dense cloud generation - but the log doesn't show the empty region, like in your logs:

Hmm, thats strange.  ??? The project name is "sobacken" right?  Thats the project.
I dont do anyting special with this project at all. Yesterday evening i did another project with 335 cameras and it worked just fine. Did nothing special at all.


I just tried to make a dense cloud (lowest) in one of the chunks and the project crashed again. This time it just turned of.

I've tried to create the full scale images from the thumbnails and started the dense cloud generation - but the log doesn't show the empty region, like in your logs:

Hmm, thats strange.  ??? The project name is "sobacken" right?  Thats the project.
I dont do anyting special with this project at all. Yesterday evening i did another project with 335 cameras and it worked just fine. Did nothing special at all.

Are you observing the crashes in the latest PhotoScan version (1.4.4)? Also according to your log the application is running in ANGLE mode - do you have any issues using Quardo card as a primary rendering device?

I can recommend to install latest NVIDIA drivers for your graphic card and use it as primary device for OpenGL rendering (can be set in NVIDIA control panel):

Also please check the RAM modules using Memtest86 utility.

Also according to the log I see that working volume is set to 0x0x0 - is the bounding box properly positioned in this project?

Yes, i have the same problem in 1.4.4.
I have to use ANGLE mode othervise the pics wont show and the behaviour is strange. 
I will install the latest drivers now and test.
My RAM should not be the problem i think because over this weekend i did 4 other colplete projects in Agisoft, the biggest one 350 pics, an it works perfectly, it is just this onte that is crashing all the time. In this project i have a earlier chunk with 850+ pics and that also worked well but now it does not work. I also started a new project and made the 1000 pics into 5 chunks and it still crashes.

With bounding box, do you mean region? otherwise i dont know what you mean, and if the program is trying to use 0,0,0 coordinates that could be the issue. Where do i find the settings for that?

ANd sometimes when the project doesent crash, it stops when its done and says "Empty point list". Any ideas of that?

I have a huge problem, the last week i have tried everything (i think) when genereating a pointcloud in a sertain project and it crashes every time. I have dine 6 other projects this week and none of them has crashed, but this one does not work.  :(
