General / How exactly would Agisoft Photoscan Pro be used for surveying?

I have agisoft photoscan standard edition and use it a little for game design, but also just started working for a surveying company and wondering how I would be able to eventually apply a drone and Agisoft Pro for surveying.

What exactly would be the major benefits of using a drone and photoscan in this type of field? What could you do with it that would make things easier, more productive and maybe faster?

General / Will there be any benefit from upgrading CPUs?

I have an i5 6600k 4 core 4.5ghz CPU, would there be any benefit upgrading to an AMD Ryzen 2700X?

Does Photoscan care more about speed or threads and cores?

If Photoscan does care more about speed then the newest i7 would be better at 5ghz, but i'd rather move to AMD for a number of reasons.

General / Textured model is blobby?

Hi, I am new to PhotoScan and scanned my first model the other day. I have a 18MP Canon DSLR and kept the zoom at the same setting the whole time, kept my shutter speed to about 100 or less, ISO 100, Aperture at the lowest setting and put the images in PhotoScan at high settings, after a few hours or so it was done and the textures looked blobby or sticking out and blurry.
 
Why is this?

What is the correct way to make the textures?
