General / Re: Basemaps and OpenSSL
« on: September 07, 2020, 10:56:18 AM »

Note that all those v.1.0.2u packages say "Not recommended for use".

This is because there are newer versions and this is not the latest. I do not think it will cause any problem because i use it as we speak with no problems at all.

Feature Requests / Re: Mesh refinement confined to region

It would be great if we had the option "Apply to selected faces" in Mesh Refinement as we already have it in Decimate Mesh & Smooth Mesh.

When this Basemap feature first introduced in Metashape I installed OpenSSL v.1.0.2.u (Both 32bit & 64bit). Restart PC and it works like a charm.

Until now there are many different versions out there but i never tried them. For me v.1.0.2.u works and i do not want to mess with that.

You can find them here (https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html) (i used the normal version and NOT the Light ones)

I do not know about Standard Edition because i use the Pro version but the option you need should be in "Tools>Dense Cloud> Filter Dense Cloud" (see attached picture).

General / Re: Create contour by Shape or by Selection?
« on: June 23, 2020, 11:58:03 AM »
Thank you for your answer JMR.

This worked nicely.

It would be great if we didn't have to do this (export/import) and had the option to do it "by selection" but until then it is a very good solution. Thank you again.

Best regards,
Costas.

General / Create contour by Shape or by Selection?
« on: June 22, 2020, 02:21:57 PM »
Hello all.

i can create Contour Lines in a project just fine BUT I would like to create Contour Lines only in a small area from a project and i cannot seem to find a way to do that.

I tried to create a Polygon area and set the boundary type and then create the Contour Lines but the lines generated are from all the area covered by the project and not in the selected area.

Is there an easy solution to that (kind of generate by selection or something)? AND/OR is there any script available that can do just that? I'm not good at scripting so if there is a ready script available it would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Feature Requests / Re: exporting point cloud filtered by confidence
« on: June 09, 2020, 12:58:54 PM »
Export selected option would be nice.

Until then i usually assign a class (eg. unclassified) to the points with very low confidence (instead of deleting them as Alexey mentioned) and when i export points i do this by de-selecting the class with low confidence.

Feature Requests / Quick menu for Filter by Class
« on: March 05, 2020, 03:44:27 PM »
Can we please have a button (maybe drop down) in toolbar for quick Selection by Class when we have classified point clouds?

Now it is a big hustle to navigate the menus to turn individual point classes ON/OFF.

I made a suggestion in the pic below.

General / Re: Hard system crash consistently during depth map filtering

I had the same problem in the past. (AMD CPU)
Did all tests for memory, cpu, gpu etc with no problem. Finally i found the problem in BIOS.

The problem was overclocking. I entered the BIOS (UEFI) settings and turned off any overclocking in CPU and Memory. Running normal speeds with XMP memory profile solved the problem and never had a crash after that.

General / Re: rotate a georeferenced model

Hello Ioannitiko.

When exporting Orthophoto choose to also export a World File (.tfw) This file will have the information to properly georeference and scale the image.

AutoCad cannot read the world file but there is a free LISP that can do that. The name of the LISP is GEOREFIMG

Once you have the Lisp the procedure is:

- Insert Raster image in Autocad (in any place you like and do not bother about scale)
- Run the lisp with the command -->  GEOREFIMG
- Select the picture and press Enter

This way the Orthophoto will go to the correct coordinates and in the correct scale.
