General / Re: RTK + single GCP
« on: July 03, 2021, 09:47:09 AM »
Hey, "HansR" sounds like the owner of RedCatch! ;)
RedToolBox is really a good software.

However, I have done many tests with UAV PPK.
One GCP is only enough if you have manageable projects.
As soon as they get a bit bigger, the whole system "tilts" around this one point.

The "golden" 5 points (dice 5) rule should still be the rule.
But of course that depends on the accuracy requirements.

Ok. A workaround would of course be to calculate another "product" with depth images.
E.g. a DEM.

One "test" solution would be to leave the images in the original, but to go to Lowest for the point cloud.
In any case, I would not split the project.

Let me first say, 1600 images is not a big project. (Especially not for this computer).
We use a 20Mpix drone camera and process projects with up to 6000 images.
True, they are JPEGs as our drone only outputs them. As far as I know, the profit of RAW photos is moderate, though.

So I think you should change something in the workflow.
It's definitely doable.

How high is the resolution of the images and what settings do you use for the point cloud?
(Unfortunately, I cannot see that from the screenshot because of the quality.)

That is no problem. Mark your point and zoom in. Then go along the markers with the keys Page up / Page down.

General / Re: Should I build dence point cloud at all now?

I found the depth maps to be far more accurate and the whole process is quicker.

That's what I always thought until now. But even if I reuse the depth images, DEM creation with the point cloud is much faster than from the depth images.

These results are not representative. Such a high error can only be due to a wrong setting, sorry...
However, the sources of error are manifold, but you have every time:
"Optimize Cameras" ?

Ok, it's on its way.
The format of the M300 could really be quite different from previous drones.

Bug Reports / Video Import fail 1.7.3
« on: May 21, 2021, 10:29:04 AM »
Hello.

How exactly should the video import with subtitles work?
When importing a video from the DJI M300, I get an error message:

"invalid stoi argument"

 :o

When deleting the SRT file, the error no longer occurs.

I meant of course depth maps...

Hello.

This can also happen if the depth images are reused but are not there...
A bit strange...
Delete all depth images and start again.

There is a script to remove all the blue flags.

You can place a marker on the picture (right mouse clock)  and you will see the coordinates...
But trees are probably very difficult to "hit".

Thank you for the answer.

One limiting factor could be our network.
I mean that the speed also depends a lot on the network speed.  :o
