Hi,

If i have aligned my photos using a low points number or low quality, is there a way to find more points or use a better quality for some of the photos afterwards without having to reset alignement ?

Hi,

i'm not sure i understood well how much the alignement parametters affect the final result (mesh quality).

Is there a big difference between low and high alignement ?

Is the number of points important ? Will i get a better result if i set max keypoints to 1 000 000 / 100 000 instead of 40 000 / 4 000 ? (with 60mp photos)

I have the impression that sometime "highest" setting give me worse results with a lot of noise.

the problem with puget is that they use a very small model project : 439 photos at 18 megapixels each

My project use between 2000 and 3000 photos at 60 megapixels each... I would love to see the benchmark results with this kind of project.

Wondering if using a 256mb ram Threadripper system would be a lot faster than my 128mb 5950x system ? what do you think Alexey ?

one issue on such projects is the video memory: i have two pc, one with 3080 and the other with the 3090. Very often the 3080 can't handle the projects because of it's smaller memory.

Hi,

i'm working on a cathedral door project.

The aera of the door is very well defined and deserves a very high quality mesh.
The surrounding is not as well defined and i want to use only mediu quality mesh, i won't have many details but it will show how it looks.

is there an easy way to merge the high quality centered mesh with it's medium quality surrounding ? and what would be the best way ?

Hi,

i'm starting to think that the best option to get projects done a lot quicker is to use the network processing feature.

where can i find documentation on how it's working ?

I was wondering if it's difficult to use ?

If i buy some computers that will only be used for this:
* how big their hard drive (ssd) need to be ?
* is a very fast ssd important ?
* how much memory do they need ?
* will they benefit from a 10 gigabit lan ? (requires a specific lan card)
* is whole processing power multiplied by the number of computer ?
* will a 4 computers setup will be twice as fast as a 2 computers one ? 4 times faster than a single one ?

Hi,

i have two pc working on metashape projects (a 9900k/128Go/3080 and a 5950x/128go/3090). those are great but VERY expensive.

i'm thinking in buying 3 or 4 more computers to be able to work on more projects at the same time, but won't be able to buy such expensive configurations.

What cpu/memory/graphic card combination would you advice to get something efficient with metashape for a decent price ? (won't be used for anything else, just metashape)

Yes indeed, i haved decimated the 50 000 000 faces model to 10 000 000 faces and it's working fine.

i'm trying with a bigger one (20M) now.

Do you know where it can come from ?

Hi,

one of my client is using assimp.org to import models.

when trying to import a big obj model (50M faces) exported with texture from metashape, his system is throwing this error : "Validation failed: Mesh contains no faces"

I had the same issue with 3 models.

do you know where it could come from and how i could fix this ?
