General / Re: Can i mix vertical and horizontal pictures in one scan...?
« on: April 07, 2025, 03:13:23 PM »Hello
Back in the day i used vertical and horizontal pictures taken with my camera (nikon d3200) in one chunk for all things and agisoft didnt flinch or said anything and all things (point clouds, mesh, textures...) came out ok.
But then suddenly newer (now OLD) versions of agisoft started giving me warnings that im mixing picture taken horizontally and vertically and that its not good and can affect quality of the scan (or somthing), but i proceeded and all looked ok according to me)... But then, as far as (and IF) my mind is correct, i think from certain version agisoft refused to use vertical and horizontal images, or it didnt allign, or there was some other problem (?) and the scans didnt work out at all...
My question is: CAN I or CANNOT I use vertical and horizontal shots/pictures in one chunk...? Can recent agisoft versions deal with this... Will there be any problems or is it totally ok and it will work perfectly/fine...? (like the old, OLD days)...?
Thanks
(andwhat about combing different focal lenghts (35mm, 50mm etc.) in one scan...? Agisoft didnt mind in the old OLD days, is this still ok?)
You can use vertical, horizontal and oblique images all in one chunk. I do this regularly without issue, the only caveat is Metashape likes to have a height above the survey surface for obliques images.
Different focal lengths are also not an issue, they are just placed in different camera groups.
