Bug Reports / GPU not found for texture baking
« on: August 12, 2023, 05:13:58 PM »
Hi!
I’ve seen some other posts on the matter over the years, and now it’s back again. For reference I’m using the eval version (will purchase the full license one of these days).
On my desktop it all works flawlessly, 7950x and a 3090.
While out and about I figured I’d try metashape on my laptop, which has a 5800x and a 3080. Everything works fine till I get to texture baking, where it isn’t able to find or select a gpu. I’ve read the texture baking uses Vulcan and that the graphics card needs to support it or have it enabled, and while I can’t find it in gpuz games work perfectly in Vulkan and ue5 development works with Vulkan as well.
I’m kind of stumped as to why my laptop gpu can’t be used by metashape vulkan when everything else uses the gpu fine.
I’ve tried reinstalling drivers (both studio and gaming) for the gpu, processor/mobo/chipset,, reinstalled metashape, updated various sdks and libraries.
Still no luck.
Any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Best regards
Morten
