Feature Requests / Re: Laser scan + pictures integration
« on: June 04, 2024, 05:44:35 AM »
I have been playing with this today.  I imported a scan I did with the RTC360. Exported the e57 (as separate files i believe) format out of Register 360 and imported the scan into Metashape with no issues, the scan maintained its registration.  What I cannot seem to figure out is how to properly align the images we took from the drone.  Ive been following Agisoft's tutorial page on how to do this with no luck; https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000168474-terrestrial-laser-scans-processing-in-metashape-2-1#Processing-of-terrestrial-laser-scans-with-images

At this point this is just cool feature but I can see a lot of potential for being able to do this. We have a project at the moment that did not require control, but we have both RTC data and UAV.  Normally we gps everything so each cloud drops right on on each other no problem.  This time, it would be great to be able to align the laser scan with the photogrammetry.   There is not just one issue here, and we have tried several different variations of Agisoft's tutorial. I did notice that after attempting to align the photos it caused the scans to not be aligned. Have you had success at all in combining everything?

Sorry this happened, super frustrating when this stuff happens.  I dont know anything about multispectral but could the homogenous landscape combined with the lighting have impact? What settings did you use when you imported and aligned the images?

We are playing with this today. Have the perfect job to do so on- not real big and not much weight behind it as far as customer expectations.  We did not gps the scans or the photogrammetry. It will ultimately serve to create an as-built of the property for some landscaping. It would be awesome to combine the photogrammetry and laser scans together but we arent really able to figure it out. We have been following the little tutorial in the release notes https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000168474-terrestrial-laser-scans-processing-in-metashape-2-1#Processing-of-terrestrial-laser-scans-with-images , but we arent having any luck. Has anyone else tried this or have a workflow down?  It would be super handy to be able to do this if we arent running our gps rover.

General / Orthomosaic Export Problem
« on: June 01, 2024, 05:08:30 AM »
Hoping that someone from Agiosft sees this.  When we export an orthomosaic we are experiencing a shift of sorts compared to the control points. Inside Agisoft the control points land right on top of our black and white targets. Our residuals are acceptable .15' control and .098' to our checkpoints.  But for some reason after we export the orthomosaic and import it into Autocad Civil 3D or Global Mapper, there is a shift sometimes up to a few 3 or 4 inches.  Is there a some kind of scale factor that Agisoft is applying to our exports? Why would there be a shift outside of Agisoft?  It is pretty frustrating and I hope that we can get this resolved. Help!

Still having the same issue. Has anyone else had this? Everything is dead nuts in Agisoft, but anything we export to we are seeing a shift in the points away from the GCPS- sometimes as much as a few inches. Why is this? Does the export out of Agisoft apply some type of scale factor?

General / Adding images from a different day
« on: May 29, 2024, 06:37:37 AM »
Is it possible and if so how does it affect quality of your mapping if you go back and add additional images the next day? We mapped an area only to get back to the office and realize we need to tack on an additional part of a property. Can we lay gcps in this area and simply add those images to the main project? Do we need to lay all gcps out and re-fly?

Did you ever figure this out? We are having the same issue. Just updated to the latest version of metashape

If you have a chance, would you mind sending me a screenshot of your residuals and image accuracy?

Probably too tight... the default accuracy was set on like .016404. I'm not sure where that came from. What did you set yours to?

Great. Ill give that a shot.  This is probably a dumb question but after reoptimizing will produced data such as orthos and point clouds readjust without having to reprocess? Seems like youd have to start over.

Has anyone figured out how to fix this? Very frustrating

Have you guys figured out what the problem is?

We are having this issue too, except when exporting out of Agisoft.  Noticed it on the orthomosaic. In Agisoft everything looks great, but exported to Civil 3D several GCP locations are shifted as much as .3'.  It is driving me nuts! Cannot figure out why Agisoft is shifting things during export.

Same here! Have you figured out what is wrong? I have been banging my head against my desk all day trying to figure out why the exports are doing this. In agisoft it is perfect.

General / Orthomosaic shift
« on: December 06, 2023, 05:55:53 AM »
We are having an issue after exporting an orthomosaic to Global Mapper and Civil 3D where the ortho is shifted in some places as much as .3'.  In Agisoft, the gcp's are dead on but in these other programs the target location and the gcp coordinates are not hitting in the same spot.  Why is this? Is there some kind of default scale when exporting out of agisoft?
