General / the RAM problematic stuff
« on: February 12, 2014, 12:23:18 PM »
Hi All.....

read this article http://www.anandtech.com/show/7742/im-intelligent-memory-to-release-16gb-unregistered-ddr3-modules

this mean we would not be so dependent in near future on the RAM capacity on single CPU setups, but as you read Intel has not implemented the DDR3 carefully, but with new CPUs and 8 memory slots it would be possible to use 128 GB ram and eventually 256 GB ( 32 GB Modules ) yes for now its a very pricey solution, but at it start to be build in larger volumes, then the price will drop significantly... its working on AMD CPUs without problems........

General / CPU and GPU benchmarks
« on: January 06, 2014, 01:08:03 AM »
Hi all, wish all good and fruitful year 2014  ;)

and we have managed to bring interesting stuff for the community here...

The http://www.anandtech.com/ decided to use Photoscan in 2014 benchmark suite, so they will test a lot of CPus and GPUs under controlled environment so all of us will see what the best price/performance devices are suited for your projects. the results will be released later this year, we expect that dual CPUs will be tested in 1-2Q too. ( 4P systems later ?? )  So stay tuned when it is released.........

This way want thanx to Ian Cutress from Anandtech that he and his team is inspired with this interesting software from Agisoft team and willing to use it in benchmark apps for the 2014 year.
http://www.anandtech.com/ - its the site where i get a lot of the indepht information about how the hardware stuff work and so can help many times with hardware problems and issues....

General / 3D printing - Mcor
« on: October 08, 2013, 08:31:04 PM »
Hi all, as have mentioned earlier, i have been today on exhibition with all the 3D printing devices available commercially.
Have seen the Mcor - http://www.mcortechnologies.com/3d-printers/iris/ But the drawback is the speed as mentioned earlier. There was a head printed out ( no color texture ) approx 25-30cm and it took approx 60 !! hours to finish it, if there was color, it would take approx 70-75 hours to finish. The other drawback is the quality. there a re steps from the cutting of the paper... If everythng go nice will have sample prints of figures next week, approx 20 cm in size... then will post it here......  Similar sized print on Zcorp would take just say 8-10 hours.....

General / 3D printing issue - wall thickness
« on: September 24, 2013, 12:03:12 AM »
Hi All, have someone try print larger model, that need precise set the wall thickness ? mostly for body or creature prints. because as i have tried, could not find good solution for it. Have tried Zbrush -  Dynamesh, 3DS MAX ( SHELL modifier ) , Geomagic ( SHELL command ). but no one can create PRINTABLE data.
its working only with very thin walls, that cannot be print out - stability issue.....

The problem is, we want test print large model, from OBJ, and the sw is not prepared for this sort of tasks like Zcorp ZPrint, there it can be set very easy.....

if interested can morning show what sort of problems it creates on mesh......

when need can give model for testing....
