Yesit wil improve the quality. awaiting for  dataset with 500+ imgs to test it out... BUT  from img quality its better to go with D810 + good lenses as with this...

the main advantage is the 16 bit color capture, and can say the imgs are "better" but not to much, if trying to  buy one, can say  its not the worth for  "standard work".  can read a lot about comparison between DSLR vs medium format camera quality...

Only if do cultural heritage or etc. Better to have  good DSLR and  PERFECT lenses ( sharpest possible ) and that all for 1/5 - 1/10 price of  medium format camera and lens... and can work more easily with the dslr cam.....

I have data even from PhaseOne ( 80 Mpix ), later when have a bit time will showcase results.....

SLI wil not work. but stil CAN use 2x 980 cards, and are faster than Quadro cards...

its best that after import of scan data you save project and look  on the position and etc...  im get the problem say  once in 50 models....

And like Lee say, can find the paramaeters and corret them from the first load ZTL file.. save incremental evey say 30 minutes.. not use single file and rewrite it...

for videogrammetry, try set  export "speed" to 1 - 5fps depend on the camera "speed" movement. and its easier to search for blurry imgs there.. Have good results from 2-4k videos with this workflow..

try to go with RAW capture of dark stuff. if have something in RAW send me the data and will show how can solve it. but when its a 100 % black, low light conditions and etc, it cannot be solved... its about how photogrammetry work...

DEM is a  "elevation" data, if need colorize it you need a RAMP color, its done in  externall aplications like GlobalMapper and etc... the coloring is just interpretation of  the data...
