Bug Reports / Re: 3D PDF Model Export
« on: August 23, 2013, 12:19:18 PM »
I have posted this already in the PhotoScan 0.9.1 pre-release Topic http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=984.30:

I used to activate the 3d measurement tool of the exported PDF (enable comment function for reader) in adobe acrobat pro. Afterwards it was possible to measure 3D coordinates in the geographic / projected coordinate system within adobe reader - a very impressive function for our costumers. Thus the absolute coordinates can be displayed in Acrobat Reader too.

It would be very nice if it were possible to choose a coordinate system in the PDF export dialog, and also a tick to activate directly the pdf comment function to enable 3d measurements.

Feature Requests / Re: bounding box

In big projects its very difficult to align/rotate the bounding box (reconstruction volume) exactly to the coordinate system in order to build a hight field where the hight direction is parallel to the z-axis of the coordinate system. An exact parallelism is important to get good orthofotos with sparse blured edges.

It were very useful if there were a button to align the reconstruction volume to the current coordinate system.

In Version 0.9.0 it was possible to export a 3d PDF in a geographic coordinate system. This option is now disabled in version 0.9.1 (always export in local coordinate system).

I used to activate the 3d measurement tool of the exported PDF (enable comment function for reader) in adobe acrobat pro. Afterwards it was possible to measure 3D coordinates in the geographic coordinate system within adobe reader - a very impressive function for our costumers.

I think this is a Bug (0.8.5):

When I want to fix the calibration PS has to use the initial parameters. But if there was a previous self calibration (without Fix Calibration -> initial Parameter != refined parameters), in a subsequent optimize process with Fix Calibration PS seems to use (and fix) the refined parameters from the previous self calibration -> the refined parameters after the optimizing WITH Fix Parameters are not equal to the initial parameters!
So I have to re-align the photos if I want to use fixed camera calibration values.

@ fpbv: Sent you a pm.

In the attachment the corresponding disparitiy map. All roofs are clearly visibile.
I could reconstruct the scene from this disparity map 'manualy' outside from PS, but its obviously very time-consuming when i have houndreds of photos...

I've tried it with smooth, but the results are the same: Some roofs were not reconstucted.
There are for example 3 neighboring buildings with same shape and roof texture, where 2 of them were correctly reconstucted and one not (see attachment). All of these building are visible on 4 aerial (nadir) photos.

Is there no setting to fix this?

Thanks

General / Holes in Height Field

Hello

I've got some troubles with height field reconstruction from aerial photos. The building roofs are not reconstructed in some cases, while neighboring roofs of buildings with same size are correctly (see attachment, settings: ultra high, sharp).
Whats the reason for this problem? Is it depending on the parameters P1 and P2? The overlap between the photos should be sufficient (each point of the region is visible on min 4 photos).

When I extract the depth map of the photos, this buildings roofs are clearly visible.

Thanks!

Hi!

Thank you for the very useful new features in v0.8.5!

In our case we youse a metric medium format camera. The lens distortion is highly accurate estimated in a lab calibration, but the camera constant is not very stable. Hence it would be very useful if every parameter of the camera calibration could separately be enabled/disabled in the Optimize Photo Alignment-Tool (not only aspect, skew, tangential distortion).

Another helpful feature would be a precision information of the estimated camera parameters (and for the other estimated parameters of exterior orientation too...). Based on this precision information we could decide whether a camera parameter is significant different from zero or not, and then it could be enabled/disabled in the further adjustment.

Best regards
Fabian

Feature Requests / Re: Multiple photo view for setting markers
« on: February 15, 2012, 10:28:04 AM »
Hi there

Another option would bi a semi automatic finding of GCP in all images after bundle alignment. The point has to be marked in a first image, and the corresponding positions in the other images could be found with the precomputed relative orientation of the images. Subpixel accuracy could be reached with a least squares matching...
Such a feature would increase the efficiency of gcp measurement significantly.
