Yes again, you need to project the images of the drone into the correct GEOid. Before you do anything else. You need to get the drone images into the correct Z height and the geometry of the GEOid.

Please update to the newest version...

Pausing is in many cases instant, but sometimes it can take some seconds or couple of minutes to activate the Pause.

So yes you can open another Instance of Metashape right away or even at the same time.

Do not Metashape will not release resources like RAM or VRAM so if you are running low on these it will start cache-ing.

I do not want the creation of a selection when aligning photos, I want the program to select the whole images. It seems that there is not a setting to switch it off, is it possible to do it because it causes serious delays in my workflow

I have tried reading this 3 times now and I have no idea what you are trying to say.

This is not supported with Metashape as you are trying it, you need to build custom pipeline in front of metashape for this to work.

Pause will just pause the process so it will not have any impact. I use it a lot when I have a large project being processed and I need to open another project.

A related question from my side: What are your experiences when working with raw (.dng) files? Do you see a clear improvement in quality compared to tiff or jpeg exports? I never noticed a clear difference in the mesh quality, only that the processing takes much longer with the raw files.

I would not recommend using RAW files directly in metashape, use a dedicated RAW converter and add these converted images to Metashape, being tiffs or jpgs.

Will it ever support them? Why not? Seems good to support it, you can skip the exporting from Lightroom to TIFF "inter-step" if you dont need to export TIFFs and just use (maybe a bit altered) RAWs...?

You do understand what RAW files are right?

You absolutely do not want to load RAW data into Metashape, You want to use a RAW converter to process the RAW data. Metashape is not a RAW converter.

You can copy paste coordinates from what ever source you have and place it on the photos. It will be very inaccurate but you will get roughly the correct place.
