Olihar,

it is strange that you get adjusted camera parameters (cx,cy) so different to Vexcel published ones. Can you show a screen shot of residuals plot as in following attachment.

My residuals RMS of 0.212 pix or 0.0011 mm is consistent with Vexcel assertion that remaining distorsion is lee than 0.002 mm.

The one above and this one here I am posting, I do not have any Fixed as I wanted to allow Metashape to adjust all and see the results.

So I do wonder if its better to keep it all fixed or allow Metashape to adjust. Its giving pretty good numbers.

I can try and run a dataset using Fixed for all and see the results.

I have aligned Osprey imagery from Vexcel without any problem. Just enter focal 100.5 mm and pixel size 0.0052 mm in camera calibration window as well as correct cx in pixel. Fix all parameters and align, should work...

I also tested allowing Metashape to Adjust for this one dataset.

Hello Alexey,

Yes, I can confirm that the same issue occurs when using both CUDA and OpenCL. During depth maps generation, the process behaves the same way in both modes – it gets stuck, CPU usage drops to around 1%, and the remaining time keeps increasing.

The logs and a screenshot of the progress dialog are attached for your review.

What happens if you force quit Metashape and open the project again and press Resume, this works for me and it will keep processing, you might need to do this few times if project is large.

Hello Talat,

Do you see in the progress dialog that GPU is utilized during the depth maps generation, are there any errors?


So far we are not yet able to reproduce any similar behavior on large datasets using GeForce RTX 50 series cards.

Thats the thing there are no error it just stops only way is to Force quit in Task manager and resume, There are not errors in Windows logs either.

Resume will always work and in many cases it will just freeze like this again, it gets a little tired if you have a batch of 10-20 chunks.

There seems to be massive problems with the 5000 series cards, Processing will just lock up, no error no nothing, it just stops.

I have reported this to support multiple times but not had any luck in finding the issue, I just have to keep force quiting Metashape and using the resume feature.

This does not happen on 4000 series cards.

Part of my workflow is to edit marker coordinates to align them with known correct locations in my basemap. Since installing Metashape 2.2.0 19890 on a new machine I cannot highlight the marker coordinates to adjust them Is this a setting somewhere? I can perform this action on the same version of metashape on my other computer. Attached file shows it working, on my new install I cannot highlight the coordinate.

Known location on baseman sounds very much not accurate to me, are you not using a station to get these points?

This looks like heavy vignetting of the lens, can you please post one single image and what equipment was used.

I would suggest doing vignette correction.

Dear Alexey,

I still don't have an answer. It's a disappointment because I thought that Metashape was very accomplished. It's very configurable and takes a long time to learn. On the other hand, DJI Terra is very simple, just a few clicks away. If Metashape's sophistication doesn't add value on this point, that's a bit sad.

Can you share the dataset?

Metashape is much better then Terra as you have almost Zero controls in Terra.

This should give you more then 2 extra decimal places, are you sure you are importing correctly?
