Feature Requests / Scale object
« on: September 22, 2013, 11:40:55 AM »
Hello!

Right now it?s possible to rotate an object. Another feature-request (and logical thing!) is to move an object (http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=1579.0).

What about to scale an object?

I know that youre able to scale an object via markers to the correct size in the Pro-version. At least Standard-users should have the possibility to scale an object by eye. Right now you?ve to do it afterwards inside other software.

Feature Requests / Viewing multiple chunks at the same time
« on: September 21, 2013, 03:59:31 PM »
Hello!

Viewing multiple chunks at the same time would improve PS in a big way:
Imagine having a big object and hundreds of photos. After aligning you could split them into several parts/chunks (and calculate the mesh in much shorter time or/and much higher quality). I would like to those parts/chunks at once.
Someone of the AGI-team wrote that in the near future PS could handle multiple texture-maps on one object at once . When this function is inbuild it could be used to save several chunks (with several texturemaps) into one obj.

Feature Requests / LowPoly-Proxy-Objects
« on: September 21, 2013, 03:48:52 PM »
Hello!

It would be nice to have LowPoly-Proxy-Objects like in other 3D-software. Even the fastest graphics-card will slow down the view when showing very HiPoly-Objects or multiple chunks at the same time.

General / Viewing problem
« on: April 15, 2013, 01:58:19 AM »
Hello Alexey/AGI!
Yesterday I figured out a viewing problem:
If you run a batch-process at model-generation and type in the number of desired polygons (for example 1000000) it will work - but if you reopen that batch-process it will show a wrong number of polygons (in my case always 200000). Maybe its a problem within my machine. Don't know. But it will decimate at the desired number of polygons (in this example 1000000)!
Btw: PS runs faster than ever before on my PC! Thx.

Feature Requests / Idea of Quality Improvement
« on: September 12, 2012, 03:32:04 PM »
Hello!

Just read that thread:
http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=677.0

The quality of the smooth reconstruction method could be improved if PhotoScan would only place polygons near to a point of the pointcloud. The distance should be defined the user.

If PhotoScan was able to calculate the density of every point inside the pointcloud there could be a second user defined variable to produce only polygons near to specific density of the pointcloud.

For that method it would be nice that the user could place or duplicate&move extra-points just to be sure that there will be no holes. As an automatic method it should be easy to convert fast generated Lowest/Low/Mid-Poly-Meshes into ("extra-") point-clouds.

Positive: Better geometry-quality - few less polys but much more space on the UV (increased texture-quality).
Negative: That method could create some holes (no watertight mesh).

I hope you like this idea of quality-improvement.
It?s a little bit like masking in the third dimension.
Hope to get feedback from Alexey or other PhotoScan-users.

Kind regards

Feature Requests / Handling Subdivided Objects
« on: September 12, 2012, 02:46:44 PM »
Hello!

It would be very nice if PhotoScan could handle objects with subdivision (and a displacement-map on it):

1. Generate a Hi-Poly-Mesh inside PhotoScan
2. Retopologize that and create an UV with a software of your choice and reproject the details out to a displacement-map. (If PhotoScan could produce displacement-maps by itself out of one Hi-Poly-Mesh and one Low-Poly-Mesh it would be even better!)
3. Import that mesh into PhotoScan
4. Build texture on the displaced Retopo

That would speed up the overall-workflow, the texture-quality will increase, the output-datavolume will decrease and it would be helpful for PsPro-users (for animation). Maybe it?s even a good way for generating larger arealmaps (I think it?s equal to DEM-maps).

General / Drones
« on: May 10, 2012, 07:22:15 PM »
Hello!
Just found out that there good drones for roundabout 1000€ at http://www.smartdrones.de . Take a look at their store. All of the Drones are made out of Carbon and the big ones (Octacopter) could carry up to 8kg. There are also good gimbals available.
I think this could be interesting for someone professional...

Feature Requests / GoZ for PhotoScan
« on: April 18, 2012, 12:40:13 PM »
Hello Alexey/AgiSoft !

I?d wrote it in another thread as an idea but this is my feature Request:
GoZ for PhotoScan for exchange with Pixologics ZBrush!
ZBrush for cleaning up/denoising models, Retopology (QRemesher in the near future), UV-Mapping and so on. Both software working together would be an awesome solution. I`m sure Pixologic would give a lot of help because it would power up their software too. And I think I`m not the only one who would pay for a GoZ-PhotoScan-Plugin.

Feature Requests / Mid-Intensity for Texture
« on: August 12, 2011, 04:10:28 PM »
Hello!
For texturing there are the options "Minimal-Intensity", "Highest-Intensity", "Blending" and "Mosaic". I think that an simple algorythm you could "Medium-Intensity" would improve PhotoScan:
Not the picture with highest or lowest pixel-intensity but the one in the middle should be taken for texturing.

General / Future dream
« on: July 07, 2011, 01:18:56 AM »
Hello !

I?d a future dream (NOT an feature request) about 3D-Visualisation with PhotoScan:
There should be 5 or more Camcorder (with some kind of a FishEye on it) to capture whole 180-degrees-scenes out of different positions and perspectives. Indistorted one of these should be calculated into big (quad) meshes with huge textures on it. With another tool (which isn?t available right now ;) ) these should be calculated into one MDD-Mesh (an animated point-animation-Lightwave-object) with a correct animated texture (I think HD isn?t enough!) . That would be awesome - like that software which could create (some bad) point-clouds of faces in realtime via high-end-gpu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWiRurBUhao ...

Feature Requests / My Feature Requests
« on: July 02, 2011, 11:10:05 AM »
Hello!

I?m very happy with your Software ... but if you ask for improvements:
- One "SaveAll" (save model&textures, save pointcloud, save project at once) would be great and easy to do?!
- One little thumbnail of the model (screenshot about 256px*256px) for each project so it?s easier to see what is what.
- (Programmable) Keyboard shortcuts for all functions

For the future some ideas:
- A sphere brush for selecting faces
- An built-in Auto-Retopo-Model-tool. First the mesh should be decimated (down to 1k to 25k), then it should be converted almost into quads and then it should be saved for other programs like Topogun, 3D-Coat or zBrush
- Manual (instead of automatic) align chunks and viewing all chunks at once
- A button to show the matched points on each of the photos and...
- A tool for removing calculated points on the photos or in the pointcloud
- Something like a light-version of "meshmixer" or "sculptris" (both freeware) inside agisoft or GoZ (for zBrush).

Kind regards
Tezen
