I have been doing some testing with the new P4R and getting some good results. I can't seem to enter the DJI dewarp Xmp data so that it means anything to Metashape, has anyone else yet? The auto adjusted camera parameters seem to been getting pretty good accuracy without GCP and even better just using 1 GCP.

Was flown with D-RTK2 base over known point shot with Trimble R10, lens correction turned off in RTK app. Ground control also shot with R10.

Coordinates converted to OSGB1936 in metashape before alignment and loading GCP.

I have tried to do a lens calibration with the chessboard in metashape but get very different parameters than what I see after a flight and optimisation. Anyone else been able to calibrate the P4R lens successfully with metashape?

Without running the optimisation the Z error is over 21cm but down to 6cm after. Using just one GCP tightens things up further to less than 3cm.

Why did you use all coefficients except p3 and p4 when optimising? What is the general rule of thumb when choosing them?

Hi there,

Is optimization using the imported camera accuracy (for example from the P4 RTK's XMP) or is it using the measurement accuracy defined in the reference settings?

Hello Dragline,

Can you provide the PDF report for this project and specify, which accuracy settings have been used for the cameras in the project?

Alexey, do we have to change the accuracy settings for the cameras (e.g. average reported precision from EXIF) or are the accuracies read directly from each camera?

Does the workflow include optimising the cameras after alignment? Would it make much difference using the precise camera positions (no additional GCP) to optimise?

General / Importing GIS raster as texture

Is it possible to import a GIS raster (geotiff) as texture and then export the model (obj)? 

I would like to import a slope layer (values 0-90) which was derived from the DEM (i.e. same extent, resolution). But when I import the file as texture I get a BW image and when I try to set the colour palette using one of the bands (B1) with values 0-90, the resultant image does not make much sense. 

What is the best workflow?

PS used to work perfectly on my laptop but recently I have been having issues with PS both versions 1.3 and 1.4. When I try to display a photo the image is blank and I cant switch between the Workspace and Reference panes. Only if I toggle between the "Model" and "Photo" panes the photo is refreshed and the Reference pane appears. 

Anyone with similar issues??

Im using 1.4 build 5097 and trying to import video (both mp4 and mov) but keep getting the error: A media resource couldnt be resolved".
