how long is 'masking from model' taking for everyone?

for me it seems like > 10 hours from a point cloud quality model (~400 photos) with hexacore i7

the area selected in the model should only be visible in around 100 photos

are there any particular factors that control how long this process takes?

e.g. number of photos in project, complexity of area selected in model, number of polygons

Although it is perhaps worth noting, in my experience at least, that enabling this makes the system slightly more unstable.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Changing the timeout detection and recovery reg value helped

Although, for me at least, this tool is largely needed to mitigate this problem

I wonder whether a system hardware test or some sort of profiler would be useful.

Feature Requests / max / min face count per unit area

Hi all - I wasn't sure whether to put this in as a bug or a feature request

Certain features tend to accumulate a huge number of faces at the expense of others, which become coarse and are under-represented.

Would it be possible to introduce a 'maximum face count per unit area' option before model reconstruction to stop this from happening?

Or, coming at it from the other way, could there be a minimum face count per unit area to ensure some areas are not poorly reconstructed

that would be good. You might be able to achieve something similar with the generate report pdf as some pdf readers give you a thumbnails when browsing in file explorer. Obviously not quite as neat as having a feature like this though =]

this was with 25 000 x 25 000 chunks and average blending build 1573

with masking still broken in pre-release (?) mosiac mode give too much of an inconsistent output

Python and Java API / remove cameras of a certain orientation

is it possible to write a script that will remove cameras that are within a certain ranges of parameter orientation?

with aerial photography datasets I would like to be able to take out the turns quickly

I don't know anything about programming languages and scripting but would be happy to learn if anyone thought that the above is possible

As far as I'm aware, exporting to geotiff from agisoft limits file size to 2 GB?

support for bigtiff or other file formats that enable export of larger files would be good

this is only a problem because of this though

Feature Requests / Identify source photo used in mosaic texture

When using mosaic blending for a texture, I'd like to be able to identify the source photo used for a specific patches within the output.

For me this would really help find and remove blurry photos.
