Feature Requests / Re: Animation mode
« on: October 04, 2011, 03:47:38 PM »
Hello Peter,

Using Python scripting you can automate the following process:

- add photos and split them into chunks,
- import camera calibration,
- add ground control and set the coordinate system,
- align photos in each chunk,
- build geometry in each chunk,
- build texture in each chunk,
- export point cloud/model/texture from each chunk

and some minor features.

Hello ju523m,

We have changed the structure of .xml camera data to unify the format with Python functionality.

But despite the new version exports data in the new format (as 4x4 matrix), it still accepts input .xml in the old format.

The latest version exports a 4x4 homogeneous transformation matrix from camera coordinates to world coordinates. This is an inverse of the projection matrix used in earlier versions.

Camera Calibration / Re: skew coefficient

Hello Jan,

Skew coefficient is the A[0;1] element of the intrinsic parameters matrix.
We'll update the manual soon to clarify this question.

Hello Peter,

"Batch process" in PhotoScan allows only to automate standard processing operations (align photos, build geometry and texture) for multiple chunks, but it still requires manual chunk creation and exporting.

Fully automatic processing could be achieved using Python scripting API available in PhotoScan Pro (starting from version 0.8.3).

Feature Requests / Re: Export Dem...
« on: September 26, 2011, 01:05:40 PM »
Hello dinosaur,

Export DEM function works for the active chunk if the following conditions are fulfilled:
- chunk have to be referenced (marked by "R" in the Workspace pane) either by setting reference distance or by Ground control
- chunk should contain 3d-model built by Build geometry process

Please check if this is true for your project. If the Export DEM isn't still activated you can send us .psz file to support@agisoft.ru so we could investigate the problem.

Ground  Control dialog is usually used for setting up geographic coordinate systems based on camera or marker locations, but I don't think that this way could be applied for the footprint model.

Feature Requests / Re: Texture - size, format, layered
« on: September 22, 2011, 05:00:36 PM »
Hello ag999,

Thank you for reporting.
We have checked the texture exporting in PNG and it seems that "blurred" areas with transparency are discarded by PhotoShop, while GIMP successfully opens this information from the same file.

We'll think how to improve PhotoScan functionality in this respect.

Hello dinosaur,

In order to enable DEM exporting you need to set up the coordinate system via Ground Control dialog (Tools Menu) or set the reference distance using markers.

Hello spiker,

Please check the Volume Measurement Tutorial. I think it should help in your needs.

If you have any other questions or problems with your data you can contact us via support form.

Hello wj,

Thank you for suggestion, I think we could implement that soon.

Camera Calibration / Re: Distortion Coefficients
« on: September 13, 2011, 05:23:08 PM »
Hello Mark,

Distortion model used in Lens and PhotoScan is described in Lens Manual http://downloads.agisoft.ru/lens/doc/en/lens.pdf (last page).
Coefficients are expressed in inverse pixels.

Coefficients could be converted if the model of the original calibration you are using has the same transformation direction (from undistorted to distorted in PhotoScan/Lens). In other case conversion might be too complicated and even almost impossible.

You also can refer to the discussion where these parameters are mentioned - http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=132.msg594#msg594

General / Re: Agisoft PhotoScan 0.8.3 pre-release
« on: September 13, 2011, 02:14:48 PM »
Hello Dino,

This option is automatic and shows the positions for all cameras that have ground control data input.
If the camera is aligned it is shown like in previous versions, if it is not aligned it is shown like a sphere placed in the space based on its coordinates:

Feature Requests / Re: Idea for efficiency improvement
« on: August 31, 2011, 06:30:19 PM »
Hello altu,

You can resize bounding box in the way it does not contain false or unwanted points and build geometry using only points inside the selected volume.

Bug Reports / Re: export orthophoto, bounding box and pixel size
« on: August 30, 2011, 02:42:28 PM »
Hello Jan,

We've checked the described case. Pixel resolution in PhotoScan orthophoto export dialog means the physical dimensions but not any projected values (e.g. in UTM) that have slight difference between the original dimensions and projected ones.

But we will consider the option to enter resolution based on current projection.
