We also see some visualization issues on Mavericks, while on the previous MacOS PhotoScan works fine. However, Batch Process crashes under Mavericks will be fixed in the next PhotoScan update.
As for the GUI suggestions we are trying to make the interface easier, for example, View Matches in 1.0.0 allows to click on exact photo in the Photos pane and see its matches with the rest of images, whereas in previous versions one had to search for the photo label in the long list. But still we are considering different options and if you have any additional suggestions we will appreciate them.

Мы уже получали ряд запросов относительно этих манипуляторов, однако, пока не уверены насчёт целесообразности включения поддержки устройств в PhotoScan.

На недавней выставке Intergeo мы демонстрировали прототип программы просмотра результатов обработки PhotoScan в высоком качестве, которая включает в себя поддержку 3Dconnexion устройств.

Добрый день, Александр,

PhotoScan производит поиск особых точек по всем кадрам, а затем, сопоставляя их, находит соответствия. На основе соответствий находятся перекрывающиеся кадры и их взаиморасположение в пространстве.

Цветовая информация не так важна, можно обрабатывать и чёрно-белые кадры, главное, чтобы качество фотографий и текстура реконструируемого объекта позволяли найти достаточное количество соответствий.

1. Add 6 usefull view buttons (Upper view, bottom, front, back, left and right)
2. Add some usefull combo for navigation mode (for example ctrl + left click to rotate pointcloud or model around z-axis, shift + left click to rotate pointcloud/3D model around x-axis...)

1. This is already implemented in 1.0.0 - you can use NumPad hotkeys or corresponding view options in the view menu.
2. For such rotation purposes you can use red, green and blue circles located on the trackball, thus rotation will be performed only around the corresponding axis and other rotations will be locked.

In the version 1.0.0 there's "Rotate object" tool on the toolbar that can be used to reorient model relatively to the coordinate system axis prior to the export or model upload.

Hello James,

Do you use control points to assign the coordinate system to chunk? If the chunk is referenced you can orient the bounding box according to the cunk coordiante system axis directions using the Python scriting.

PhotoScan utilizes OpenCL devices during depth maps computation step and several GPUs can be used simultaneously (but not in SLI/CrossFire mode). But as for FirePro cards they should not be very fast in terms of PhotoScan performance.

если Вы снимаете объект на поворотном столике, а положение камеры фиксировано, то нужно обязательно закрывать масками неподвижный фон. Чтобы это сделать в автоматическом режиме необходимо сделать дополнительный кадр при тех же настройках и положении камеры, но без объекта - только фон. После этого через меню Инструменты -> Импорт маски выбрать вариант "Из фона" и указать соответствующий файл. Более подробно о процедуре можно прочитать в Руководстве пользователя в разделе, посвящённом маскам.

Что касается невидимых хотя бы с пары камер областей, то они будут либо заполнены экстраполированной (в режиме реконструкции Плавный) или интерполированной (в версии 1.0.0) геометрией, либо же в геометрии будут дыры (например, в режиме Резкий).

Currently we are not planning to extend Pro version functionality and include command-line access.

Version 0.8.3 is two year old and is lacking most of current features and functionality, apart from being very slow compared to the actual release. So we do not provide installation packages for old version.
