Also please specify how the processing has been performed (locally, in batch, using scripting or network processing) and if save operation has been incorporated or used at some point.

Hello osmanjan99,

The PSX file itself doesn't contain any information but the link to the corresponding .files folder, so the file itself remain unchanged, even if you save the project multiple times. So you need to check the contents of the .files folder, whether there are folders related to each chunk that contain dense point cloud, mesh and etc.

Hello Theflier96,

Generally, there's no difference  to PhotoScan how large or small is the object, providing that photos are overlapping and the image quality is good enough. The potential problem that I see is the acquisition of the sharp images with good focal depths and also some thin elements of the insect bodies that may be problematic for the reconstruction.

However, there are some example of PhotoScan application for such micro objects:

Hello A. Jalandoni,

Probably you've accidentaly have used expired Trial key?

Regarding the licensing issue I suggest to contact sales or support department directly.

Hello Strob,

You can try the following steps in PhotoScan, providing that the images have been acquired using calibrated nodal head:
- add photos,
- select all cameras in the chunk in the Workspace pane and create a new camera folder for them (right-click on selection and choose Move To -> New Camera Group option),
-right-click on that new camera folder in the Workspace pane and set the folder type to Camera Station,
- open Tools Menu -> Camera Calibration window and switch the camera type from Frame to Fisheye,
- run Align Photos operation.

If it works and aligns the cameras you can use Export Panorama function (you might also need to adjust the position of the camera station in the coordinate system space using Rotate Object tool prior using the Export feature).

Hello n@sk,

Thank you for providing the data, we were able to reproduce the issue and find the source of it, so the fix will be included in the next update.

General / Re: Parameterizing texture atlas.. Stuck at 70%
« on: September 27, 2016, 06:04:38 PM »
Hello CanadianOne,

336321 charts is too much for a regular model, usually the texture atlas contains at most a few thousands of charts. So big number may be related to the big number of isolated mesh components, for example, if there is a lot of noise flying around the model or the mesh has been generated using disabled interpolation.

Even if the operation succeed, three hundred of thousands charts for the 4096 pixel atlas will likely result in the extremely pixelated model.

Hello CanadianOne,

Seems strange, do you have log for that also?

Hello CanadianOne,

Are you using color correction?

And also which version of PhotoScan you are using (haven't asked that in the previous thread)?

Hello Tom,

You can try to check it in the project file. For example, if it is PSZ format, then unzip it and check doc.xml. But it will give you the information about the major release version only, like 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2.

General / Re: 3D Model stuck at building Mesh... What should I do?
« on: September 26, 2016, 08:44:23 PM »
Hello CanadianOne,

According to the log at moment PhotoScan is trying to extract all the model faces (the step will be then followed by the decimation stage, if you have input non-zero face count value).

According to the document for 500 16 MPix images it would be required over 64 GB RAM to generate the model using Arbitrary surface type.

Hello CanadianOne,

And which quality you have used for the dense cloud generation? I can also suggest to check the approximate memory consumption peaks depending on the dataset size and settings used in the following document:
http://www.agisoft.com/pdf/tips_and_tricks/PhotoScan_Memory_Requirements.pdf

If you have the logging enabled, please provide the output related to the processing, we'll see at which particular step it stalled.

General / Re: Is 1 core reserved / gpu really necessary?
« on: September 26, 2016, 07:44:43 PM »
Hello awilson,

Usually we suggest to disable one CPU core per each OpenCL device used to allow it to control the data management and transfer. Otherwise CPU will be also fully involved in the depth maps generation step.

Unfortunately, I haven't got personal experience with the GPU cluster, but can suggest to disable all CPU cores and see how it works. Maybe you can also share some results of your tests?
