General / List of assigned photos?
« on: July 06, 2022, 07:32:22 PM »
Hi, after assigning several images to an ortho, is it possible to auto generate a list of all the names of all the photos that where assigned?

Thanks!

Bug Reports / Scrambled UVs on import
« on: February 06, 2020, 12:18:04 AM »
I am not sure if this is a bug or some change to the OBJ format.  So, I have a simple workflow of exporting out a high resolution OBJ from Metashape and then importing that in a third-party software for decimation.  Using the latest version of the Metashape, the UVs are lost (or highly messed up) when the low resolution OBJ is imported back into the software.  At first, I thought this was a problem in the third-party software.  I used a legacy version of Photoscan (1.2) and the same model exported and imported properly. So, the problem doesn't appear to be my workflow.

I think something is broken on the import tool.

Python and Java API / Deleting duplicate cameras
« on: July 07, 2019, 04:02:18 PM »
Hi, there was a script in Photoscan to remove duplicate cameras (photos) from a chunk.  Is there a version of that script available for Metashape?

Thanks,

Mark

General / Importing images from list in a text file
« on: January 08, 2019, 06:30:47 AM »
Hi, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.  I have a text file with a large number of photos that I would like to add to a new project.  The images are scattered across several partitions and for reasons that are complicated, I need to leave the images in their current directors.

Is there a way to automatically add files from a text file with the following syntax?

I:\Projects\Marsoulas\D31-D42.5\Wall_Base_Gilles\D37-39_Mos releve 2018Willis.jpg
I:\Projects\Marsoulas\D31-D42.5\Wall_Base_Gilles\D37_38_Connector releve 2018Willis.jpg
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8246.JPG
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8003.JPG
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8004.JPG
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8005.JPG
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8006.JPG
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8007.JPG
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8008.JPG
G:\Projects\Marsoulas\2014\Photos\Right\D33-39\9M7A8009.JPG
... files continue for hundreds of lines

Thanks for any help you can share.

Bug Reports / Merge Produces Errors in DEM
« on: December 01, 2016, 04:17:35 AM »
When merging adjacent chunks errors are being introduced into the DEM.  See below

When many chunks are merged the problem is even worse

I have noticed this problem in several UAV datasets.

Python and Java API / Delete duplicate photos?

Hello, does any have a script that will delete all duplicates of a photo within a chunk?

Thanks,

Feature Requests / Bookmark View
« on: June 30, 2016, 08:04:06 AM »
Hi, it would be helpful to have a "bookmark view" feature that allowed you to return to a specific model view when a project is reopened.  I am exporting ortho images from unusual angles and it is nearly impossible to return to a view if I need to re-export with changes or additional imagery.

Thanks for considering it,

Mark

Bug Reports / Processing time Inaccurate

If you "show info" on a chunk, the "Reconstruction parameters > Processing time" is off by a significant amount.

Cheers,

Bug Reports / DEM from Mesh not working
« on: December 29, 2015, 12:58:36 AM »
Hi, I noticed a bug in the latest version of Photoscan. If you trim a mesh in Photoscan and then export as a DEM, the trimmed areas are still present but exported as flat areas.

Feature Requests / Transfer Sparse Cloud to Dense Cloud
« on: September 04, 2014, 07:13:13 PM »
A function to transfer a sparse cloud to dense cloud would be very helpful.  Occasionally, sparse clouds has better surface coverage than a dense cloud of the same object.  Such a tool would allow two chunks to be combined for maximum surface coverage.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to do the following in PhotoScan with Python.

As an example, I have 20 photographs making up one 3D model.  I would like to automatically export one orthophoto of each individual image in the "Top XY" projection plane.  So that in the end, I have 20 separate orthophotos for each of the original photographs.

The number of photographs and the names of the photographs will change in each project.  The data is also planar without geographic coordinates.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Python and Java API / Remove Unnecessary Photos
« on: June 07, 2014, 01:24:40 AM »
I heard elsewhere that there was a Python script for PhotoScan that could automatically remove photographs that included too much overlap or where redundant with other photos after the initial alignment stage.  Is this available?

It would be useful for those projects where there are too many photographs that have too much useless overlap.

Thanks!

General / Presenting hundereds of models
« on: March 26, 2014, 04:31:37 PM »
Hi Everyone, I have several hundred high resolution 3D models.  I am trying to figure out a way to automatically export images of each model.  All the models are georeferenced in a local grid system
Here is what I would like to do:

* Export a PNG of the model without a texture looking straight down on it with metric scale in view
* Export another image with a profile view of the same model.
* Ideally the exported graphics would have the same name as the 3d model.[

I have a way to export the data as a DEM into ArcGIS and from there make graphics via Python.  The problem is that DEMs just do not show the same level detail you see in the 3D model.   I suspect this will need to be done in a third party software.  Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Mark

Python and Java API / Batch processing of numerous PSZ files
« on: January 25, 2014, 04:50:04 PM »
Before I start delving into Python, I thought I'd ask if anyone has already created code that does this or similar:

I have 42 psz files.  I would like Photoscan to:

1) Open the first psz in the sequence
2) Align the photos (generic, high)
3) Build Medium dense point cloud
4) Build Mesh from Dense Point cloud (arbitrary, high)
5) Save the psz file
6) Open the next psz file in the sequence and then repeat steps 1 through 6.

This is probably pretty basic stuff but I'd appreciate any sample code or a nudge in the right direction.

Thanks!
