General / Object Scale
« on: June 02, 2015, 12:47:58 PM »
Hi there,

we are scanning objects for 3d printing purposes. I detect markers in my scan (which works fine) and add a scale bar, edit the length of the scale bar and then click on update. After that I export FBX for further editing in zbrush.

With this workflow it never gives me the right real-world-scale of the object, its always about 0,06 m.

What am I missing?

Greetings!

General / photoscan zbrush texture issue
« on: August 08, 2014, 10:47:38 AM »
hi,

when I do 3D-Scanning with Photoscan I like to clean up my models in zbrush afterwards. For my convenience I rotate and move my model to be exactly perpendicular to the floor so it is easier for me to handle. After doing the cleanup I often put a box below it as a replacement for the raft for my fdm-printer so it looks nice. As you can imagine I work in PM3D and Dynamesh  knowing that I loose UV-coordinates. That has never been a problem as the FDM-printer does not support colored printing.
Now my issue is that I have to work for a z-printer where I need my textures. I know that workaround with retexturing in photoscan by creating uv-coordinates in zbrush and using them in photoscan (keep uv). The problem with that is that I loose the orientation when I move my object in zbrush so I cannot  retexture it in photoscan. Probably I have to change my workflow but can somebody give me a help with that?

thanks!

Hi there,

I've got a simple question:

What exactly (!) does this "color correction" do?

Thanks!

General / TOP cam for low-altitude UAV
« on: July 27, 2013, 06:54:04 PM »
Just bought this one:

http://www.dpreview.com/previews/ricohgrdiv

- Built-in Intervalometer with EVERY option you wish
- CCD sensor (global shutter)
- fixed zoom lens
- light weight (about 220g)
- 10MP quite enough (imho)

Just in case smbdy is interested, I did this with this camera:

Feature Requests / Move To Chunk
« on: June 29, 2013, 06:17:37 PM »
When a certain amount of images in workspace is selected a nice feature would be if you could move these images to a certain chunk by selecting the chunk in a sub menu. Drag and drop is possible but if you have a lot of images somewhere down in the list a move-to-chunk-feature would be nicer.

General / Turntable-Question
« on: February 06, 2013, 04:21:00 PM »
Hi there,

when using a turntable the camera-positions are (more or less) known. I.e. when rotating 24 times a camera must be placed every 15 deg.

Now, is there any way to use ground control in connection with this to improve accuracy, quality and speed? Any ideas?

Another question is, when using a lens with a fixed focal length, how can I use a camera calibration I did with Agisoft lens? And does it improve the results?

Thanks!
