Future Metashape /Agisoft Pro

Hi , here are some thoughts on things I know many would like to see in future edition of the Software.

Have Agisoft use Cashe to Balance Memory demand.
For example dedicate a 1TB Nvme Disk for this only

Tiled Building. Have the software split the task into smaller ones.
Have a look how Global Mapper deals with this. This way all smaller tiles meet the demand of the computer.
This way projects can be of 10TB pointcloud but are divided up.
Same goes for export. Export as single file or tiled files depending on how much resolution is needed.
At work I dedicate 1TB cashe for this. Let me know if you need more info regarding this.

But a more automated way of dealing with this is much welcome based on a few presets.
Maybe this can be controlled on the amount of overlapping photos allowed?

What’s your thoughts on this ?

Regards Johan

Hello Johan,

Are you speaking about visualization/export or processing functionality?

For visualization DEM, orthomosaic, tiled models and dense clouds are not loaded as a single block already. Only the area of interest in a given zoom resolution is loaded.

Export of the DEM, orthomosaic and dense cloud already supports split in blocks option, if it is necessary to export the large area in detailed resolution.
