Tools -> Preferences -> Crash
« on: November 21, 2012, 04:02:50 PM »
Hello,

Last night I became a new user of Standard edition of Agisoft Photoscan and everything is brilliant except the fact whenever I try to go to Tools -> Preferences the application crashes.

Any advice really welcome

Hello augeaz,

Thank you for reporting.

We assume that the crash is caused by some problems with OpenCL, so we recommend to update the graphic card drivers.

Thanks for a quick response.

I updated my graphic card drivers for my AMD HD 4890

I tried these drivers:

12-6-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql
and
amd_catalyst_12.6_legacy_win8

I forgot to mention this is a Windows 8 64 OS

Hello augeaz,

There could be some problems with the correct Windows 8 support for the old graphic card driversor there could be also some conflicts with WDDM drivers.

Hello,

I wanted to update you all who could have that problem with older GPU.

I found that solution working for me:

1. Open Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall a program
2. Click on AMD Calayst Install Manager then click Change
3. Click Next on the welcome screen
4. Click Uninstall Manager then click Next
5. Click Custom then Next
6. Check box next to AMD APP SDK Runtime then click Next
7. Click Finish

I can open Preferences now.
There is no OpenCL support as side effect I believe.

moving agisoft photoscan to a new pc
« Reply #8 on: April 30, 2013, 05:23:32 PM »
hello,

I know it's been a while since this topic was attended, but rather than opening a new one I though I will continue here

I saved some money and I went for a new CPU and GPU which took me to new Motherboard and RAM as well as SSD for a new system

can I just move/install agisoft photoscan on to my new pc or there has to be some involvement from an  author to move the licence?

regards
marcin

Hello Marcin,

You need to deactivate PhotoScan on the old computer at first (using Help Menu -> Activate Product dialog). And then use your license key to activate PhotoScan on new PC.
