Import Point Cloud In Agisoft
« on: December 31, 2018, 10:23:09 AM »
I need to process point cloud generated from some other software in Agisoft Photoscan. I currently have "LAS" format generated from a different software and it has created 9 files of "las" format of the same region. But in the import dialogue box, I am able to import a single file only, How can I import all files or is there a way to merge those files and consider them as singular?

Another abnormal thing is that when I import the LAS file, the track ball's navigation becomes strange. The up down viewing angle makes it to steer forward or backward.

Hello Mohammad,

If you need to merge several imported dense clouds in the same chunk, the following procedure is suggested:
- create a new chunk in the Workspace and make it active,
- import dense cloud via File Menu -> Import -> Import Points option,
- uncheck "Set as default" option in the dense cloud context menu in the Workspace pane (right-click on the dense cloud label),
- repeat import and unchecking set as default option for every cloud that you have to import,
- select all the dense clouds in the chunk contents in the Workspace pane, right-click on selection and choose Merge options.

I also suggest to do it in version 1.5.0 (pre-release build has been recently updated) as it should work better for imported clouds and would also allow to use Reset Region for the imported dense clouds, while there are no aligned cameras, if you need to build mesh or DEM surface from it.

Wow good to know that!

Hi,

I have purchased a BLK360, the native ipad software aligns the scans poorly. Im hoping agisoft can align the scans. I am currently trying to follow this thread, however I cant find the set as default option.  Can someone provide screen shots?

Hello Tom,

Currently supported point cloud import formats: PTX, PCD, PTS, E57, LAS, LAZ, PLY and OBJ.

You can check the text format layout by exporting the dense cloud from Metashape in these formats, probably, one of them is close to the formats that you have.
