Dear users,

i processed a pointcloud, mesh and DSM from a UAV survey some weeks ago and used 14 GCP for the model.
Some weeks later a second survey of another 21 points was randomly measured on the surface of the area.

Is there a way to compare the distances in Z-direction (X and Y are not marked and cannot be judged) directly in Metashape?
What would be your way to see how valid the model and the new points are?

Greetings and thanks in advance

Alex

Hello Alex,

You can build DEM in both projects opened as chunks in the same Workspace, then use Transform DEM feature (new in 1.5) to subtract one from another and get a kind of elevation difference map.

You can import the new points on the model (you have already done if i see correctly).
Then you can check the model 2 ways. Either you use the measure tool in the model directly over the new point and you can see it's Z value or you can see the new points over the DEM or orthomosaic which provide the cursors XYZ value.
