Index Overflow mesh generation via depthmaps
« on: March 21, 2019, 01:11:03 PM »
Hi All,
i am wondering if the error "index overflow" is because of Hardware limitations? I tried to generate mesh from the sparse cloud via depthmaps, and just before it was finish it crashed with exit code 0 and "Error: Index overflow"
Any suggestions or tipps to get the job done?

Thanks in advance!

Hello r.herberth,

Which version of Metashape you are using and what were the processing parameters (number&resolution of images, quality selected)? Can you provide the processing log related to the failed operation?

Hi,
i am using the standard version 1.5.1 metashape
the setting was on very high with 30.000.000 Polys. There are 486 aligned cameras with 1.691.547 tiepoints.
i attached the log file, but i had to delet part of it to resize the file due to the upload requirement

Thanks for the support!

Hello r.herberth,

If the log is too large, you can attach a zip archive or send the file to support@agisoft.com mentioning the forum thread id.

Hello r.herberth,

I've checked the provided log, the issue occurred within the mesh generation procedure due to the very high density of the result. We are actually working on improvement of the behavior in such conditions, but it would be likely not a short-term solution, so to avoid the problem I can suggest to use lower quality setting for the depth generation (High instead of Ultra, for example) or try to generate the model in several blocks, if Ultra quality is required. The area of reconstruction can be limited by the bounding box.
