Restarting the computer in the photo alignment
« on: March 28, 2019, 03:07:56 PM »
Hi,

My problem is this:

In photo alignment, when Metashape takes a large percentage done, the computer restarts.
I have tried to visualize the console when it performs this step and during the detection of points everything is normal (there is a normal use of the GPU) but at the time of beginning to orient the photographs, the temperature of the CPU increases considerably to the point that the computer restarts.

I have monitored the temperature of the CPU with different software and it is in this process when it overheats. As a result, the computer restarts to avoid damaging anything.

This has happened to me working with several models (of 150 photos, 120, or even 90...), it always happens the same. The curious thing is that using other software (Reality Capture, Blender, etc.) none of this happens.

I leave you the data of my hardware:

- CPU: QuadCore Intel Core i7-4790K, 4400 MHz.
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 ti
- RAM: 32 Gb.
- SSD SanDisk 500 gb.

Thank you very much.

Excuse my English translation.

Hello virumota,

Can you provide the processing log that includes the application initialization lines and the processing-related lines up to the crash?

If you are using Windows OS, is there any related record in the Event Viewer?
Best regards,
