Use of markers on a facial scan !!!
« on: January 29, 2019, 04:01:35 PM »
To improve alignment, I've placed markers on my model's earrings.  So wherever her left earring shows up in one of the photos, I place a marker.  Same for the right earring.

I was a bit concerned about this because the perspective of the earrings changes as the model rotates.

And as they are round pearl earrings, I thought this might not work.

Indeed, my alignment worsened.  Really bad.

Anyone else have experience with this?

Should I have stuck a few flat markers on her face while I was shooting?

What's the protocol?

Hello narayans,

From what I have seen, scanning studios are usually using small dots put on the actors face, like on this picture:

Or in this post: http://ir-ltd.net/triplegangers-is-back/

Currently Metashape Pro doesn't support spherical targets (that assume the coordinates of the target in the center of it).
