Remove / Ignore Excessive Images When Texturing
« on: April 14, 2019, 05:41:03 AM »
Hi all,

Quick question about texturing and overlapping cameras / camera projections when using Bundler (.OUT) format.

Basically, I am wondering if there is a way to ignore / remove overlapping images / projections from a generated texture (or from the image set before texturing). For example, if I am to travel 5 feet in 5s, I will have gathered 25 images (at 5Hz), of which only 2, 3 or 4 images are likely enough for that section of the texture. I believe I am losing some texture quality due to the amount of overlapping images I have and the very small micro-variances in their positions are adding to a blurry / out-of-focus look to some of the texture surfaces.

Might there be a python script or some other option to ignore / remove the excessively overlapping images?

Please note:
* Some of these textures contain over 30,000 images, therefore going through, viewing the cameras manually and attempting to remove by hand is daunting.
