Once, I finish creating hi-poly geometry in Photoscan, what is the process for updating UV's for better texture projection.

If I understand the process correctly, I can export the Photoscan mesh as an OBJ, retopo, layout new UVs, and project hi-res details (I am using Zbrush). Then reimport the new mesh back into Photoscan before I create the texture.

Any tips on this process would be helpful!

It's pretty much exactly as you described it. Be very careful not to move your model out of position or it may not line up when you re-import it. Be sure to use 'keep UVs' once you start applying textures back in PhotoScan.  I've found I get better texture results if I only apply one image at a time and then export it.  Then I can blend a few of them manually in Photoshop.

If you don't work with UVs regularly, I'd suggest using a human readable UV layout - not a tiled one.

Great, so as long as I don't reposition the exported OBJ from Photoscan, the world space coordinates will remain constant. That's what I assumed...

Thanks

Hi
I have performed this procedure, however when I re-import into Photoscan in order to apply the texture I get some aberration to the image(top left corner and right sight of the arch).
I have tried to position the low poly object as much as possible on top of the high one.(you can see the first image which is not my best try because I have a better ones).
I have used keep UV and I have chosen mosaic because average gives me a very blurred image.
Any help on how to optimize this process?
Many thanks
Nic
