Yaw/Pitch and Roll orientation problems.
« on: April 24, 2019, 01:58:35 PM »
Hi,

So I have a question I hope some of you might be able to help me with.

I've recently stepped into Metashape from Pix4d/CC and I'm still quite struggling with camera calibration.
Yesterday I processed a UAV dataset  (this was without the use of Yaw, pitch and roll) and with metadata (IMU).

The point cloud looks fine..... However, the model's orientation was kind of off. So I thought maybe by adding yaw, pitch and roll metadata this would fix it.

Sadly I came back to a finished processing workspace with a wackadoo of a 3D model.

I was wondering if anyone perhaps can tell me why this is ?

Thanks in advance!

With kind regards,

M d Jong

Hello M d Jong,

It would be helpful, if you provide the processing settings used, screenshot of the alignment result, screenshots of the cameras location/orientation errors from Survey Statistics dialog and a screenshot of the adjusted calibration parameters from the Camera Calibration dialog.

Hello M de Jong,

The calibration seems correct, so the issue is likely related to the referencing.

Possible reasons:
- partially incorrectly aligned cameras,
- mixed X and Y columns for reference coordinates,
- incorrect selection of the coordinate system,
- incorrect orientation angles loaded to Reference pane.

You can re-save the project in PSZ format with the alignment results only and send it to us (to support@agisoft.com), so that we could try to find out what is the main reason.
