Expected Image object in U8 mode

I am running the mask by color python script from the wiki on a set of images. It works fine when the images are .jpgs, but not when they are .tiffs, when the error "Expected Image object in U8 mode" is raised. Is there any way to fix this?

Can you provide an example of such image to support@agisoft.com? What is the number of bands and bit depth for the images in the chunk?
