30day trial on Mac terminal registration

hi
while I figure out my Metashape crashes which takes almost a week now to investigate.

I need a backup solution so I was trying to register a 30day trial on my MacBook Pro 2017 in the mean time so that I can get some stuff done.
however when I chose the option I get an error can't write license file
when I usually activate the license on the Mac I use a terminal command so I have it automated but there seems to be no -argument to install the demo.
anyone with some advice

If you have a license key, you can use the activation command from the terminal as shown in the related article:
