Intelligent Scissors really slow after 1.5.3.8432 Update

Intelligent  Scissors are really slow since the last update (1.5.3.8.8432). It is okay with single clicks but as soon as the cntrl key is held it becomes really slow. Additionally, if you click points quickly the scissors slow down again. Lots of lag.  It is making use of the tool a real problem.
