Export of Model not working

Trying to export my model to be viewed online or in a different software. The model itself is too large of a file size for me to export to sketchfab, and when i export it as a .obj file it opens up as an empty 3d space, and is almost 5 gb. I've read about decimating the mesh and all that to make it smaller, but in the tools>mesh menu, all of the options including decimate mesh are greyed out. Not sure what I'm doing wrong!

Hello nichertzler,

Do you see "3D Model" instance in the chunk's contents in the Workspace pane? If so, set is as default via context menu after right-clicking on the corresponding line of the pane. It would allow to view the mesh in 3D view and decimate, if needed.

Also please specify the number of polygons of the model for this project.

If there's no 3D Model line in the Workspace, then you have not generated it yet and I could assume that you have exported point cloud to OBJ format instead of the polygonal model.

Thanks! i did see the 3d model in the workspace pane, and was able to export it after a while. I guess there was just a problem with the 3d viewer software i was using. Thanks for your help!
